But, despite the uncertainties of the year, the Hyperledger community has continued to make big strides and enterprise blockchain has grown in its impact and importance.  To close out 2020, Hyperleger has compiled a year end report on the state of the community and the greenhouse. The report comes just as Hyperledger hits its 5th anniversary. The project was announced on December 17, 2015, supported by 21 founding members. It now has over 200 members with 16 named projects, 20 labs projects, five regional chapters and 20 Hyperledger Certified Service Providers (HCSPs). The 2020 Hyperledger Annual Report is a wide-ranging look at project updates and milestones, community engagement, events, international growth, and training and certification. Report highlights include: – The releases of Hyperledger Fabric 2.0 and Hyperledger Fabric 2.2 LTS – Hyperledger Besu’s graduation to active status – The launch of Hyperledger Cactus, which graduated from Hyperledger Labs – Record member participation in Member Summit – Swift, worldwide uptake of virtual meet-ups with more than 180 events in 81 countries Looking at the state of the ledger now, it’s clear that the focus has shifted from proving the value of blockchain to scaling, governance and managing blockchain networks. COVID-19 has given digitization of trust-based processes a new urgency, driving deeper interest in identity and supply chain use cases.
