Integration three Niuafe 2/26/22 Integration Three Brothers, sisters, tokos, first and foremost I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for coming out after this tragedy. I know it hasn’t been easy losing such a humbled, family man, but the lord has now called him home. Thank you to those that have donated to the family inaction of good faith and those that have set up a gofundme for the humblest of them all, Niuafe . As we all know, Tuihalamaka was greatly dedicated and ambitious when pertaining to his sport. This was a man that was willing to run through a brick wall to see himself and his family succeed. Not only was he a beast on the field but also in the classroom. A man who would take studying over partying and Friday night. Notre Dame University was a school with the highest support system any young adult could ask for, according to Niuafe. As one of Niuafe’s closest friends, I could definitely say he fulfil his purpose as much as possible in life. As a teenage boy, he was aware that he had business to take care of in order to start a great legacy behind his last night. He was infact forced to find the best ways to reaching his goals in live. Regardless if it meant him changing schools or traveling distance everyday to maintain a steady routine in leading to where he was now. As quoted, “The one thing technology doesn’t provide use with is a sense of how to make the best use of technology.” https://ideas.ted.com/why-we-need-a-secular-sabbath/ (Pico lyer, TED). I use this quote to really explain that technology has a way with being deeply in ones life each and every day. If we didn’t adapt, time doesn’t wait for anyone, we’d be left behind. Football was on the top of the chart, but not the only thing Niuafe cared about. He’d go and support others while attending The University of Notre Dame. He was also one that cared tremendously about the disabled and those in need. Niuafe wasn’t really a person to call on people for help but he https://ideas.ted.com/why-we-need-a-secular-sabbath/ always knew the close people he could depend on. As mentioned, “No matter how hard my training became, she was there for me.” https://notredame.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=10159379-7eca-4549-8581-ab9500 c9ecd9 (Produced by Jerry Barca and Christine O’Malley). Not only did this quote explain that everyone needs someone but also that everyone has stressful times and it is up to those around to try to comfort them as much as possible. Those that hung out with Niuafe know that he was one that could definitely eat. If he had to chose, seafood would be the “go to” food to eat. Nobody really knows when there day is called and they must meet the lord. Some are more scared than others but when you walk with the Lord daily, it doesn’t scare you anymore. Stated here, “We try to suppress the thought of death, or escape it, or run away from it because we think that’s where we’ll find happiness.” https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/14/us/memento-mori-nun.html (Ruth Graham, NY Times). Death isn’t something we can outrun nor hide from because it is just a part of life. Whenever Niuafe had extra time on his hands, he’d often surround himself with his family and/or the church. After knowning him for we could say his whole life, I personally know that this was a man who was dedicated to giving back. Regardless if it was to his family and inner circle, volunteering, to even giving a few dollars to those on the corners in need. When talking about Niuafe Junior, there wasn’t much to say his sense of humor and personality speak for themselves. He was the kind of person who could light up a whole room by just his presence. He wouldn’t say much, but when he did, people listened. I’ve had the luxury of actually growing up with Junior and the overall development he has reached as a person himself was greatly above par. As quoted, “There is no “Best major” out there- but there is a “best major for you”. https://undergradcareers.nd.edu/navigating-your-career-journey---moreau/ (Meruelo Family Center for https://notredame.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=10159379-7eca-4549-8581-ab9500c9ecd9 https://notredame.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=10159379-7eca-4549-8581-ab9500c9ecd9 https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/14/us/memento-mori-nun.html https://undergradcareers.nd.edu/navigating-your-career-journey---moreau/ Career Development). I used this quote because this wasn’t a picky guy but he used whatever worked for him. Only a few really knew Niuafe when he went by Junior and the mentality has turned completely from boy to man. I believe this was a part when Niuafe began to learn himself and step completely into his role God put him here to do. Knowing right from wrong and understanding the way people moved was something his parents really installed into him. Allowing him to make his own judgements because he was aware. Niuafe received many awards and accomplishments but these weren’t what he built himself on. He lived his life in a very Godly way and carried his faith on his shoulder. As stated, “Lord, I don’t even know if you really exist, I don’t even know that all the stories that are recorded in the Bible are true or not, but, if you can still do something about my situation, if you can still do something for me, please help me. Please help me.” https://grottonetwork.com/make-an-impact/transform/why-does-god-allow-suffering/ (Aria Swarr, Grotto). This quote helps us understand that regardless of whether we know or not, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Any and every time we are mentioning Niuafe in our conversations, it will be nothing but good things. People tend to lean towards words such as warm-hearted, hard worker, good-looking, or even just as smooth. This was a person who believed we should all help one another. As stated, “That we all need each other, none of us is an Island.” https://www.ted.com/talks/his_holiness_pope_francis_why_the_only_future_worth_building_includes_ev eryone/transcript (His Holiness Pope Francis, TED Conferences). A person that is willing to do their best to try to pull everyone together will always be good in God’s eyes because that’s all he wants for the common good. https://grottonetwork.com/make-an-impact/transform/why-does-god-allow-suffering/ https://www.ted.com/talks/his_holiness_pope_francis_why_the_only_future_worth_building_includes_everyone/transcript https://www.ted.com/talks/his_holiness_pope_francis_why_the_only_future_worth_building_includes_everyone/transcript
