It carries the heroic deeds and valuable qualities of Hunan revolutionary martyrs and has a unique nurturing value, which is an important material and content for the ideological education of colleges and universities. In order to give full play to the nurturing value of Hunan culture in the field of “three-wide nurturing” and to promote the innovation of nurturing mode and mechanism in colleges and universities, this paper elaborates the concept of Hunan red culture and “three-wide nurturing”, as well as the relationship between Hunan red culture and “three-wide nurturing”. The paper also further discusses the consensus, clear objectives, and promote the synergy among all education subjects to realize the “whole staff” education; connect the growth of students to inherit the genes of Hunan culture to realize the “whole process” education. The mechanism of nurturing people with Hu Xiang red culture is explored in three levels: integrating Hu Xiang culture nurturing resources and enriching nurturing carriers to realize “all-round” nurturing people, promoting Hu Xiang red culture and the “three whole nurturing people” system in colleges and universities, and building a system of “three whole nurturing people”. Universities are an important position of ideological work, and young college students are an important force to inherit the red gene and walk a new path of the times. The integration of Huxiang red culture into the “three whole education” system of colleges and universities is an important content to promote the inheritance of red gene, cultivate and practice the core socialist values, and an important measure to implement the fundamental task of establishing moral education. 2. Hunan Red Culture and “Three Comprehensive Education” 2.1 The Connotation of the Concept of “Three-Wide Education” Since the 18th Party Congress, the Party Central Committee has been planning and promoting education from the strategic height of achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, implementing the fundamental task of educating people with moral character, and establishing the institutional mechanism of “three-wide education”. At present, with the continuous development of education “three whole education” law understanding continues to deepen, practical experience continues to accumulate, the institutional mechanism continues to improve. The “three whole education” refers to the whole staff education, the whole process education, all-round education. Meanwhile, in the autumn of 1927, the successful Nanchang Uprising led by the Chinese Communist Party marked the birth of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, in which Mao Zedong and other Hunan revolutionary pioneers actively participated, opening up a new path for the Chinese Revolution. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the people in Hunan and Hubei carried out the revolutionary struggle with great hardship and perseverance under the aggression and oppression of domestic and foreign enemies, and achieved a series of glorious victories. During the revolutionary struggle, the masses of people around Hunan and Hubei courageously explored the road to liberation, advanced the revolutionary cause, and reflected on and subverted the old concepts.
