This paper briefly describes the spiritual connotation and educational function of Huxiang red culture, discusses the internal correlation between Huxiang red culture and labor spirit, analyzes the necessity of the integration of the two, extracts the key variables affecting the integration of the two through theoretical research and practical research, and finally proposes the integration path of Huxiang red culture into college students’ labor education from four aspects: curriculum ideology and politics, practical education base, campus culture and new media platform. Introduction General Secretary Xi Jinping once said: “We must make good use of red resources, carry forward red traditions, and inherit red genes”. “Huxiang red culture has a long history and many advanced deeds, which is a valuable wealth that we must inherit and develop, which contains rich educational resources. As a large number of young people, college students shoulder the heavy responsibility of development and construction, and they must carry out systematic labor education and cultivate college students with correct labor values. Both Hunan red culture in the new era and college students’ labour education have the characteristics of advancing with the times, and the spiritual connotation of both have important educational significance and certain relevance, however, they also face the problems of low degree of innovation and few practical processes, therefore, exploring the paths and methods of integrating Hunan red culture in college students’ labour education in the new era, improving the rationality and practicability of the two are the fundamental needs for carrying forward the educative function of Hunan red culture and enhancing the effectiveness of labour education. 2. The Educational Function of Huxiang Red Culture 2.1 The Spiritual Connotation of Huxiang Red Culture In the long-term revolutionary struggle, their thoughts, wills, and beliefs have been continuously sublimated, and their spiritual qualities are an important component of Huxiang’s red culture. The red culture of Huxiang contains a rich cultural spirit and is an important historical and cultural culture in China, which demonstrates the great patriotic spirit and fearless spirit of the Huxiang people. Huxiang culture has distinct personalities and characteristics, mainly in the following aspects. (1) The spirit of patriotism that cares about the world. The famous revolutionary martyr Guo Liang was a well-known leader of the labor movement, who organized the general strike of the Guangdong-Hankou Railway in 1922, and made indelible contributions to national independence and people’s liberation with his unwavering faith and indomitable spirit. Zhang Chao, who was born in Yueyang in 1986, served as the captain of a carrier-based aviation unit of the Navy, and has carried out combat take-off missions many times, showing the self-confidence of the Chinese army in the process of air competition with foreign military aircraft. It is precisely the land of Huxiang that countless patriots have emerged, who have made unremitting efforts for the prosperity and strength of the country and national independence, and jointly forged the patriotic spirit of Huxiang. (2) The spirit of innovation that dares to be the first in the world. Mao Zedong was determined to change China’s poverty and weakness when he was young, and began a magnificent historical journey with countless like-minded revolutionary comrades. The victory of the October Revolution in Russia brought hope to semi-colonial and semi-feudal China, and the leaders of the Communist Party of China represented by Comrade Mao Zedong changed their thinking on the basis of China’s reality and opened up the revolutionary road of “encircling the cities from the countryside.” History has proved that it was the courage to innovate and seek change that finally marched toward the victory of the revolution. Nowadays, in the process of Chinese-style modernization, Huxiang red culture has played an important role in economy, culture, education and other aspects. (3) Practical values that have been applied to the world. The perfect combination of practical application and seeking truth from facts has formed an important connotation of Huxiang red culture in the new era. 2.2 The Educational Function of Huxiang Red Culture (1) It is conducive to building the core values of socialism. From history to modern times, there have been many cases related to patriotism, dedication, daring to be the first in the world, seeking truth from facts, etc., which are in line with the core values of socialism, and promoting the red culture of Huxiang is more conducive to understanding the deep connotation of the core values of socialism. (2) It is conducive to the patriotism of college students. Patriotic education is an important foundation for cultivating contemporary college students, and the red culture of Huxiang has brought together countless heroic stories, through feeling and understanding their patriotic deeds, and guiding college students to value patriotic thoughts with the power of example. (3) It is conducive to cultivating down-to-earth talents. Integrating Huxiang red culture into the daily education of college students can make college students deeply understand the spirit of hard work of their ancestors, only hard work can prosper the country, and only hard work and down-to-earth can cultivate outstanding talents needed by the country and the nation. (4) It is conducive to strengthening the cultural self-confidence of college students. Huxiang red culture embodies the long-standing collective memory of generations, which is not only a part of traditional Chinese culture, but also an important ideological and educational resource, refining the spirit of Huxiang red culture with practical significance, which not only demonstrates the advanced socialist culture that keeps pace with the times, but also is conducive to deepening the understanding of cultural self-confidence. 3. The Intrinsic Correlation between Huxiang Red Culture and Labor Spirit (1) Unity of values. Huxiang’s red culture and labor spirit both belong to the core values of socialism and play an important role in the process of youth training. Huxiang red culture has rich educational resources, through the understanding of the spirit of Huxiang red culture, can correctly shape the values of college students, in order to cultivate a comprehensive new era of talents; labor spirit emphasizes the process of participation, in the process of labor education to transform knowledge reserves into practical ability, re-recognize the importance of labor education, and actively shape the health values of young people. Combining Huxiang’s red culture with the spirit of labor is an important means to practice the core values of socialism. (2) Consistency in cultivating talents. Therefore, cultivating talents in an all-round way is the consistent purpose of Huxiang’s red culture and labor spirit. (3) Keeping pace with the times. On the basis of adhering to the principle of Sinicization of Marxism, Huxiang red culture has continuously absorbed the achievements of practice, constantly kept pace with the times, and adapted to the needs of national construction and development in different periods; the spirit of labor also has different characteristics of the times in different periods, and the all-round development from “moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor” to “moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor” has also fully embodied the progress of the times in labor education. Therefore, both the red culture of Huxiang and the spirit of labor have a development process of continuous innovation. 4. The Necessity of Integrating Huxiang Red Culture into the Labor Education of College Students (1) Promote the construction of Huxiang red cultural carrier. The cultural carrier is an important platform for tradition and carrying forward the red culture of Huxiang, and the types of carriers mainly include memorial halls, ruins, scenic spots, etc., and the methods of communication include traditional media, new media, classroom teaching, etc. At present, the cultivation of Huxiang red culture for college students mainly relies on traditional classroom teaching and spontaneous browsing in the media, which has insufficient depth of influence and average communication effect. The labor education resources of college students are relatively abundant, and the practical content is transformed into educational results, and the integration of Huxiang red culture into college students’ labor education is conducive to college students’ deep understanding of the value and connotation of Huxiang red culture, and at the same time improves the stability and timeliness of the dissemination of Huxiang red culture, and further promotes the construction of Huxiang red culture carrier. (2) Improve the labor education system for college students. At present, the labor education system for college students in the new era mainly includes ideological and political labor education, professional labor education, and practical labor education. According to the survey, professional labor education accounts for the highest proportion of college students’ labor education, followed by practical labor education and ideological and political labor education. In the labor education system of college students in the new era, it has become particularly important to strengthen ideological and political labor education, and integrating the red culture of Huxiang into the labor education of college students is conducive to improving the enthusiasm of college students to participate in labor education, deepening the connotation of the labor education system, and promoting the development of the labor education system. (3) Promote the all-round and healthy development of college students. The Path of Integrating Huxiang Red Culture into the Labor Education of College Students (1) Strengthen the ideological and political construction of the curriculum. At present, there are still relatively few courses in colleges and universities to integrate red culture into the labor education of college students, and there is a lot of room for development in the future. The first is to strengthen the construction of the main channel of the classroom, which is the main channel for college students to receive red culture education or labor education, and to increase the proportion of Huxiang red culture and labor education content in ideological and political courses and professional courses by strengthening the ideological and political construction of the curriculum; the second is to promote the reform of education and teaching, deepen the theoretical research on the integration of Huxiang red culture into the labor education of college students, improve the curriculum evaluation system, and improve the systematization of curriculum teaching. (2) Strengthen the construction of practical education bases. Through practical research, the theoretical teaching content is combined with practice, making full use of Huxiang red cultural resources, integrating vivid images, texts, and objects into practical teaching, forming a practice mechanism that combines classroom and extracurricular, and linking schools and localities, and vigorously cultivates the Huxiang red cultural labor education practice base, and strengthens the promotion and construction of the practice base through cooperation with the government and society. Immersion labor education is carried out through integrated research and learning, so as to promote the complementarity and synergy between Huxiang red culture and college students’ labor education in the field of practical teaching. (3) Strengthen the construction of campus culture. Campus culture is a cultural form with multi-dimensional educational functions, which is disseminated through a variety of ways, including lectures, competitions, competitions, public welfare, sports, clubs, etc., and has the most far-reaching impact on college students. Therefore, cultivating a good campus culture is of vital significance for the all-round development of college students. Huxiang red culture and labor education elements are an important part of campus culture, and they together constitute a diverse and complex cultural complex. This kind of complex can enhance the cultural self-confidence and values of college students, improve the pertinence of college students’ ideological and political education through the campus culture that is easy to perceive and internalize, and promote their all-round development. (4) Strengthen the construction of new media platforms. Strengthening the construction of new media platforms is an effective way to improve the innovation and effectiveness of college students’ ideological and political education. In the era of new media, the Internet has become the main channel for college students to obtain information and communicate and interact, so the use of the Internet to carry out ideological and political education for college students can better meet their needs. First of all, building a new media platform can provide a more convenient and efficient way to learn and Xi. Through the new media platform, you can study and Xi anytime and anywhere, without being limited by time and place, and at the same time, you can also more easily access various Xi resources, such as cases, videos, documentaries, etc. Second, new media platforms can better capture the attention of college students. By sharing cases, videos, documentaries and other methods related to Huxiang red culture and labor education, we can stimulate the interest of college students in learning Xi and promote them to take the initiative to learn Xi relevant knowledge. At the same time, the introduction of virtual simulation and other technologies, through VR, AR and other technologies immersive experience, can allow college students to have a deeper understanding of relevant knowledge and cultural background, and enhance the depth and breadth of academic Xi. Finally, strengthening the construction of new media platforms can also promote the interaction and communication of college students. On the platform, college students can share their own learning Xi experiences and experiences, communicate and discuss with other students, and form a good Xi atmosphere and interaction mechanism. 6. Conclusion The integration of Huxiang red culture into the labor education of college students can not only help students better understand the history of the Chinese revolution and inherit the red gene, but also cultivate their spiritual qualities of dedication, hard work and innovation. In labor education, students need to participate in labor practice and cultivate labor skills and labor spirit. The revolutionary martyrs in the red culture of Huxiang have made tremendous sacrifices for the construction of New China through arduous labor, and their labor spirit and revolutionary spirit are exactly what college students need for their education. At the same time, students can feel the fighting spirit and patriotic feelings of the revolutionary martyrs in labor practice, so as to stimulate their patriotic enthusiasm and labor enthusiasm, cultivate their sense of social responsibility and responsibility, and promote the all-round development of college students.
