Jayden Delanoy is a senior honors student at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. Majoring in organizational behavior and human resources management at the G. Bring Ryan College of Business, Jayden hopes to use her business knowledge in a HR or recruiting role in San Francisco, CA. On campus, she is involved in intramural team sports, the Professional Leadership Program, and the UNT Honors College !esis Defense Program. Jayden’s hobbies include playing sports, cooking, and traveling to new places. She is very excited to graduate this May and is ready to take on a new stage in life! Katelyn Jo France is pursuing a B.S. in biochemistry with an emphasis in biomedical engineering and a B.A. in German studies with an emphasis in sustainability at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and plans to continue her schooling to get her PharmD. She is the founder and CEO of Scientists Making Your Life Easier (SMYLE) LLC, a med-tech and mentorship-focused corporation that produces accessible life-saving medical equipment while also providing opportunities to underserved students interested in pursuing STEM projects and careers. She is currently working on a pharmacogenomics project assessing sertraline concentrations in children strati"ed by their CYP2C19 genotype. She also works as a barista in her hometown of Hinckley, MN, and loves all types of co#ee. Katelyn loves needlework, crocheting and 3D printing projects, as well as hiking near her home along the North Shore. Hannah Johnston is a junior at the University of Kentucky studying music education. On campus, she is involved in a variety of musical groups including the wind symphony, jazz ensemble, and choristers, as well as the UK collegiate chapter of the National Association for Music Education. A$er graduation, she hopes to work as a band director and eventually study musicology in graduate school. She also loves reading, spending time with friends and family, and working on creative projects. Annika Le is a third-year student at Seattle University, where she is majoring in creative writing and minoring in writing studies. Outside of academics, Annika devotes her time to Re-Mixed, the Multiracial Student Association, which she founded in 2018 with some of her peers. She plans to pursue an MD/MBA and is interested in working at the intersection of healthcare and administrative disciplines to improve health delivery practices. On campus, she conducts neuroscience research, serves as a member of Vanderbilt Student Government, and represents her school at national Bhangra dance competitions. In her free time, you can "nd Diya assembling 3D-printed prosthetic arms and playing the violin. In 2019, international student Camila A. Micán obtained her triple BA in political science, global & international studies, and history from the University of Kansas as part of the Honors Program. Her research focuses on the intersection between education and global development, peace building, power and accountability, cultural preservation, and grassroots politics. She has worked extensively in England and the United States to rede"ne the perspective of Colombia as a “narco-country” and raise awareness of the real challenges and marvels of her home country, both as a nation and as a state. Camila aspires to have a career in academia and in the non-pro"t sector, studying societies around the world and creating equitable education systems that will aid in the development of lasting world peace. Taylor Mogavero is a senior at Florida State University earning a degree in biology with a focus on marine biology. She plans to pursue a career in researching "sheries science to provide resources for sustainable "shery management. Taylor is the Take Back the Tap coordinator for FSU’s Sustainable Campus and works to discourage single-use plastic water bottles and educate others on water insecurity issues. She is also a passionate runner and is the co-founder and fourth-year president of the Seminole Striders Running Club. Kate Murner is a senior honors student at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She will be graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science in psychology and attending the College of St. Scholastica in the fall. She will be pursuing an MBA in Leadership and Change, with intentions for a career in dialogic organization development. Kate currently enjoys her employment with Laera Coaching and Consulting and hopes to continue work in her interests of motivation and persistence. Katie Nguyen was enrolled in the Honors College at McLennan Community College before transferring to the University of North Texas to continue her studies. She is currently a junior majoring in English, with a concentration in British literature, and plans to minor in linguistics. She is a member of Phi !eta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta, and was a recipient of the Dennis Boe Award for outstanding undergraduate research at the Great Plains Honors Conference in Spring 2019. Author Biographies Aisthesis Volume 11, 202048 Nityam Rathi recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in the biological sciences, and minors in chemistry and economics. During his time at Pitt, Nityam was extensively involved in the honors community, Global Brigades, and community service in addition to research. Outside of class, he loves to go for runs and play tennis. Nityam is very interested in learning how to bring data-driven methods into science and medicine, ultimately with the goal of leading such research e#orts as an aspiring physician. Teresa Sauer is a senior honors student graduating from Fair"eld University with a B.S. in biology and minors in women, gender & sexuality studies and environmental studies. She is an active undergraduate researcher, currently conducting studies on the impact of storms on lake systems and the e#ect of riparian reforestation on streambed denitri"cation. She is also involved in a number of scienti"c outreach projects and student advocacy organizations. Teresa is passionate about e#ective scienti"c communication and using an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to research. A$er graduation, Teresa plans on pursuing a graduate degree in ecology. Sohum Sheth is a freshman at Northeastern University, originally from Sayville, New York. He is pursuing a degree in cellular and molecular biology and a minor in economics, with plans to become a physician. Growing up in what is the epicenter of Lyme disease, Sohum is passionate about increasing awareness and improving prognosis of the disorder, which is the focus of his research. He hopes to build a career as a community advocate, working at the intersection of healthcare and business. In his free time, Sohum enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, cooking, and cheering on his New York Yankees. In 2020, Kaelan Weiss graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth a$er studying physics, mathematics, and art history. His research interests include linear and nonlinear wave dynamics and the vertical structure of Lake Superior and other large lakes. Originally from Minnesota, he plans to relocate to a coast to continue his education in physical oceanography. Christina Woodrow is a "rst-year Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholar at Vanderbilt University. She is considering a double major in economics and computer science, as well as a minor in Spanish. On campus, she is involved in Women in Business, Women in Computing, and VandyHacks. She is particularly interested in the societal implications of both emerging technologies and global challenges like climate change.
