A fund because the stock provides income to its owner is traded on the stock exchange at a certain rate. American Journal of Business Management, Economics and Banking Volume 12 May, 2023 P a g e | 31 www.americanjournal.org A stock exchange is an organised marketplace, licensed by a relevant regulatory body, where ownership stakes (shares) in companies are listed and traded. Listing happens in the so-called ‘primary market’, where a portion of a company’s shares are made available to the public. The company often uses the listing to raise funds through issuing new equity shares (an initial public offering or IPO). Investors can then buy and sell these listed shares in the so-called ‘secondary market’. While listing in the primary market may result in a flow of funds from investors to the firm, the trading between investors in the secondary market does not. The activity in both the primary and secondary market occurs within a framework of laws, rules and regulations, aimed at ensuring the existence of fair, transparent and orderly markets. To achieve these objectives, these rules and regulations will typically provide for the protection of investor assets, the process for transferring ownership of shares, the requirements with which companies that are listed on markets must comply, and processes for ensuring settlement of disputes. Exchanges also ensure that trading occurs according to predefined, public rules and that information about the prices at which investors are willing to buy and sell, and the prices at which instruments have sold (pre- and post-trade transparency) are publicly available [1]. Apart from this, stock markets and economic functions may not be distinct to many people but, in fact, they represent a relationship between the disparate sectors in social society between savers and producers as the saving sector needs to employ their savings in more beneficial and ambitious projects. Moreover, the productive sectors always require financial sources to assist them to continue to perform more in function of economy, in which stock market performance and functions of basic economy transfer funds from people who have amassed surplus to those who have a paucity of funds (Henry, 1997). When stock markets rise or fall sharply, it can alter how confident people feel about their finances and how much they might have to spend in the future. It can also have a bearing on how companies allocate their funds and the amount of capital that they are able to raise to expand their operations. Taking the above into consideration, it would be foolish to assume that the average American is in no way affected by the buying and selling of shares[2]. Depending on the nature of financial transactions, there are several ways to categorize the Financial Market t. According to the principle of return, the financial market is divided into two: • debt obligations (consumer persuasive money) and the capital (property) market. In the debt market, money is a temporary loan and the money received is used for personal consumption. • capital (property)the right to receive income from money invested in the market is sold and bought. It's in the market the funds are used as capital and generate profit. Capital with this in mind market can be divided into 2 segments: loan capital market and stock market. On loan capital market is lending capital in the form of money with the condition of paying interest. This short-term obligations are in circulation in the market.
