The main reason for that is not only learner may encounter the problem in the interpretation of words, but also the words various usage. The article is devoted to assist the readers to find out the normativity and systems of dictionaries. Introduction It is natural for human being to learn new foreign language without the help of teachers, mankind is capable of learning autonomous, though they need the reference books or dictionary. On the basis of human needs, most of the amenities have been done; even on dictionary has been worked which plays an extremely important role for learning language. Without doubt, dictionaries act as gathering places and are true founts of information, helps people learn and gains new knowledge, understand and interpret, develop and learn, translate and find synonyms, learn the origin. The common used explanatory words - a type of dictionary with a description. The explanatory dictionary explains the lexical meaning of words. The word is interpreted only once, and the combination of words is given in the explanatory dictionary as many times as the number of words included in this phrase - once with an interpretation, the rest with a reference. Dictionaries help us to write and pronounce words correctly, broaden our horizons, and introduce us to culture. Indeed, a person professionally connected with the word cannot do without reading dictionaries, without systematic, regular work with them: a writer, journalist, linguist, language teacher, modern student. Without an explanatory dictionary of the English language, it is impossible to learn the language and learn how to use the acquired knowledge in practice; dictionaries enrich our speech.
