National University of Uzbekistan Abstract Currently, in our society, the role of information technologies is extremely important; today they occupy a central place in the process of development of society, its educational system and culture. The education system and science are one of the objects of the process of informatization of society. Informatization of education requires theoretical justification and selection of information technologies used. Naturally, the desire to actively use modern information technologies in the field of education should be aimed at increasing the level and quality of conducting a foreign language lesson. In recent years, the issue of using new information technologies has become increasingly relevant. Modern youth clearly understands that learning foreign languages is a requirement of the time. Until recently, teaching a foreign language was based on the traditional approach, which consists of the teacher communicating the amount of theoretical knowledge and developing students’ skills in the discipline being studied. In a classroom setting, the teacher does not always have the opportunity to pay due attention to each student, so many of them lose motivation to learn, which leads to a significant decrease in the level of their knowledge, skills and abilities. Therefore, one of the main tasks of the teacher is to intensify the activity of each student in the learning process, creating a situation for their creative activity. This brings to life new methods, approaches and technologies for teaching foreign languages. The development of new approaches, methods and teaching technologies has intensified with the advent of Internet technologies. Improving learning technologies occupies one of the first places among numerous new directions in the development of education. The priority of today's education is the focus on the formation of communicative competence. The communicative approach in its modern understanding implies learning to communicate and developing the ability for intercultural interaction. In this regard, the use of computers and multimedia helps to implement a student-oriented approach to learning, ensures individualization and differentiation, taking into account the characteristics of students and their level of knowledge. The introduction of modern educational technologies into the process of teaching a foreign language helps to intensify and individualize learning, helps to increase interest in the subject, and makes it possible to avoid subjective assessment. The use of computers and digital educational resources in teaching English helps students overcome the psychological barrier to using a foreign language as a means of communication. Nowadays, the use of ICT is available to every teacher. Teachers are increasingly using electronic means as sources of information, since each foreign language lesson should be aimed 206 AMERICAN Journal of Language, Literacy and Learning in STEM Education www. grnjournal.us at a practical result, at achieving communicative competence, i.e., a certain level of linguistic, regional knowledge, communication skills and speech skills that allow the implementation of foreign language communication. The use of ICT in lessons allows you to diversify the learning process and present educational material in a more visual and accessible way. Working with a computer not only helps to increase interest in learning, but also makes it possible to regulate the presentation of educational tasks according to the degree of difficulty, encouraging correct solutions. In addition, the computer allows you to completely eliminate one of the most important reasons for a negative attitude towards learning - failure due to a lack of understanding of the material, since the student is given the opportunity to use various reference guides and dictionaries. Working on a computer, students have the opportunity to complete the solution of a problem, relying on the necessary help. Presentations are widely used by teachers. They are convenient for both teachers and students. With basic computer literacy, you can create original educational materials that captivate, motivate and target students for successful results. The most popular technical means in teaching foreign languages include multimedia presentations, educational programs, films, and specialized Internet sites. The use of multimedia presentations in foreign language lessons is based on a communicative approach to mastering all types of speech activity: reading, speaking, listening, writing. The cognitive aspect of working on a presentation helps create motivation. When creating a presentation, students combine all types of speech activities: reading, speaking, listening, writing. In order to select the material necessary for their presentation, students have to look through a lot of printed material, work with linguistic and encyclopedic reference books and dictionaries. Reading texts are also used on presentation slides. Thus, students develop lexical, grammatical, and pronunciation reading skills. According to research by German scientists, a person remembers only 10% of what he reads, 20% of what he hears, 30% of what he sees; 50-70% is remembered when participating in group discussions, 80% - when independently discovering and formulating problems. And only when the student directly participates in real activities, in independently posing problems, developing and making decisions, formulating conclusions and forecasts, does he remember and assimilate 90% of the material. Multimedia resources provide invaluable assistance in preparing didactic material, presentations and the lessons themselves. The following digital educational resources are used in foreign language lessons: PowerPoint presentations, text editors, spreadsheets, tests, educational programs on CD-ROM, electronic textbooks, educational Internet resources. Currently, there are a large number of programs for teaching English. As a rule, they contain many game elements, which evoke positive emotions in students, which, in turn, contribute to better assimilation and practical consolidation of the studied material. Podcasting technologies are currently one of the most relevant in the study of foreign languages. The content of podcasts is similar to radio broadcasts. Thanks to thematic videos, students quickly memorize vocabulary, which they then use in dialogues based on what they heard. The use of ICT in foreign language lessons helps to increase the motivation and cognitive activity of students and broadens their horizons. and allows you to apply student-oriented technology of interactive teaching of foreign languages, makes it possible at any time to retrieve from memory and use language material related to different sections of the foreign language being studied, carry out in-depth structuring of this material, arrange it in any acceptable form, use color, animation , graphic and sound capabilities, regulate the dynamic sequence of their presentation.
