Sports competitions were regularly held among secondary school students across the country. Schoolchildren of the Kashkadarya region achieved high results in wrestling, football and volleyball competitions. RELEVANCE Based on the requirements established in the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 27, 1999 No. 271 “On measures for the further development of physical culture and sports in Uzbekistan” in order to educate the younger generation mature in all respects, physically strong, in addition to the opening of special sports in the regions schools, measures were taken to develop this area in secondary schools. On October 31, 2002, Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 374 “On improving the activities of the Children’s Sports Development Fund of Uzbekistan” was announced. In accordance with the document, activities were carried out to form funds in the regional branches of the fund. METHODS AND LEVEL OF STUDY In particular, at the expense of enterprises and organizations related to the economy, oil and gas industry, construction, public utilities, agro-industrial association of the Kashkadarya region, 1 million 725 thousand soums were allocated to the fund1. Also at the XV Asian Games, held in Doha in 2006, Karshi karateka Sofya Kaspulatova was awarded the title of “Continental Champion”2. In 2007, Gulzoda Mamatova from Kashkadarya took first place at the hand-to-hand combat championship held in Samarkand3. RESULTS OF THE STUDY On June 3, 2003, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On organizing a system of sports competitions aimed at attracting students to sports.” It has become a tradition to regularly hold sports competitions “Umid Nihollar” among students of secondary schools. According to the resolution, it was decided that the republican stage of the competition will be held once every 3 years. At the Umid Nihollari sports games, students mainly competed in popular sports such as rhythmic gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, gymnastics, table tennis, swimming, tennis, football, chess, and belt wrestling. The first republican competition “Umid Nihollari” was held in Fergana in 2002. It was held in 2003 in the Khorezm region, in 2006 in Karshi, in 2009 in Gulistan, in 2012 in Navoi. For example, more than 4 million students took part in the qualifying round of the Umid Nihollari sports competition alone in 2003, of which 2,114 participated in the finals4. Schoolchildren of the Kashkadarya region have always been active participants in the Umid Nihollari sports competitions. In the formation of the national team region “Umid Nihollari- 2009” from the city of Karshi (35 people), Guzor district (23 people), Shakhrisabz district (14 people), Kitab district (9 people), Mubarak district (16 people), Koson district (10 people), athletes from Kamashi district (7 people), Karshi district (4 people), Kasbi district (3 people), Yakkabog district (3 people), Chirakchi district (2 people), Nishon district (2 people) were trained. The national team of the region “Umid Nihollari-2009” was formed with a total of 163 people (128 athletes, 18 coaches, 11 judges, 2 police officers, 1 medical worker, 3 managers)5. The weight of participants in the Umid Nihollari sports competitions has increased. For example, in 2003, 20% of schoolchildren participated in the Umid Nihollari sports competitions, and in 2015 - 55.8%. In 2012, these sports games were held in 12 rounds, and in 2015 – in 17 rounds. Initially, victories in the Umid Nihollari sports games were won mainly by schoolchildren from regional centers. The 2015 awards were won by students from the district schools of Chirakchi, Kasan, Chimboy, Khatyrchi and Havos. In 2015, the teams that took first place at the regional stages were awarded 14 Damas cars for the first time as a “Presidential Gift”. In particular, the school team of the city of Karshi was awarded6. In September 2017, the qualifying and regional stage of the Umid Nihollari sports games was held in the Kashkadarya region, where 462 thousand 296 schoolchildren (including 171 thousand 974 girls) competed in 21 sports. The winners of the team-based competition were representatives of the Koson region. Young people took part not only in competitions at the republican level, but also in international ones and took honorable places. For example, in the 2008-2009 academic year, Safar Choriev, a student at school No. 9 in Karshi, won the title of world champion in karate, Shakhnoza Artikova, a 7th grade student at school No. 5, won the world championship in Greco-Roman wrestling and defended the title of regional champion8. In district schools of the Kashkadarya region, all conditions have been created for children to play sports. Based on 3910 sports facilities in the Kashkadarya region, it reached 133 thousand 788 students. Daily use of one object averaged 8-9 hours. In addition, throughout the year, mass sports competitions, “Umid Nihollar”, “Soglomjon- polvonjon”, “Summer Holidays”, “Alpomish”, “Barchinoy”, “Happy Starts” were held in sports complexes and mass sports competitions were held for the holidays . Interest in women's sports increased, among which less developed sports such as athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, gymnastics, and women's football became popular. On May 15, 2007, the “Children's Sports Development Fund” developed a regulation under the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On holding sports competitions in the summer of 2007” - “Summer 2007” among students of secondary schools in order to ensure the health of schoolchildren and a pleasant rest for students during the summer holidays and ensure their continuous participation in sports, on its basis a charter was developed and events were organized10. “The long-term program aimed at increasing the efficiency and coordination of spiritual and moral education carried out in educational institutions of the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated March 2010, in accordance with paragraph III, Tuesday was declared “Sports and Health Day”11. A number of events to develop athletics have been carried out in the Kashkadarya region; students of secondary schools have achieved positive results in this area. For example, Jaloliddin Khamrokulov was accepted into the national youth team of the republic after winning the Uzbekistan Championship, held in Gulistan in 2012. At the 2013 Asian Youth Games in Nanjing, China, he finished eighth out of 54 countries in the 100 and 200 meters12. He also won an international tournament among athletes from Central Asia in Almaty, Kazakhstan. At an international tournament held in Thailand in early 2014, he took seventh place among athletes from 49 countries. He became the number one athlete in the republic in short distances of 100 and 200 meters13. In the Kashkadarya region, artistic gymnastics has become popular among students of secondary schools. A group of young gymnasts from Kashkadarya trained in the Russian Federation. n March 2014, a student of the regional children's and youth sports school, Dilmira Ashurova, won a silver medal at the international tournament "Young Grace" in Kirov, Russia, and Farangiz Akhmedova won a gold medal at Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Malaysia. In 2014, the young chess player Sultanbek Tursunov became first the champion of Uzbekistan, and then the silver medalist of the Asian Championship14. In 2014, schoolchildren of the Kashkadarya region took honorable places in a number of sports. For example, a student of the regional children's and youth sports school Ashurova Dilmira took 2-3 places at the international competitions in rhythmic gymnastics “Young Grace” in Kirov and Barnaul, Russia. At the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Tashkent, a member of the Uzbekistan national team, a student of the regional children's and youth sports school, Ganieva Luiza took third place in the team competition and became an international master of sports. Azizbek Samadov, a student of the Shakhrisabz regional children's and youth sports school, took 1st place in the 800-meter distance and 2nd place in the 400-meter distance at the Central Asian Athletics Championships among teenagers born in 1996-1997 in the city of Olmota, Kazakhstan. Young athletes from the Kashkadarya region actively participated in international competitions and defended the honor of Uzbekistan. For example, a group of athletes from the Kashkadarya region participated in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. At these competitions, Kashkadarya students won 5 medals as part of the national judo team and in individual competitions. Dilshod Choriev won a silver medal, Mirzokhid Farmonov, Sarvar Shomurodov, Navroz Jorakobilov, Saib Kurbanov won a bronze medal. In general, in the Kashkadarya region in 2014, children under 16 years old won 7 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals in international arenas16. In August 2015, young athletes from Kashkadarya took part in the first International Arm Wrestling Tournament for children and teenagers in South Korea. The athletes demonstrated their skills in Uzbek martial arts and won three gold and one silver medals. At the competition Mirjakhon Rakhmiddinov 60 kg. in the weight class he fought against his fellow Filipino and won the gold medal, beating him 4-0. School student athletes such as Shermuhammad Yorbotaev, Nurjahon Temirov also took part in this tournament17. Young athletes of the Kashkadarya region have achieved great success in the field of sports in a short time and introduced Uzbekistan to the world. CONCLUSION Thanks to the wide opportunities created, the number of people involved in sports increased every year. For example, in 2015, the total number of schoolchildren aged 6-15 regularly involved in sports was 271,733 (56.0%), while in 2016 this figure was 300,606 (60.8%), compared to 2015 amounted to 28,873 (4.8%). In 2017, 14,197 students in 16 children’s and youth sports schools of the public education system of the Kashkadarya region regularly played sports. At the same time, there were a number of errors and shortcomings in this area. The available opportunities were not fully utilized by the coaches. The management and coaches of the sports school did not carry out propaganda work among students of secondary schools. Due to the low weight of young people involved in sports, coaches did not have the opportunity to assess the physical capabilities of students and select them. To complete the group, the coach accepted a student who came to the sports school, without taking into account his physical capabilities. Thus, during the years of independence, holding sports events among students of secondary schools has become one of the main directions of state policy, and many achievements have been achieved in this direction.
