Alisher Navoi, a 15th-century poet, philosopher, and statesman from the Timurid Empire, remains a monumental figure in the history of world literature. Revered for his contributions to the Chagatai language, Navoi’s literary works have transcended regional boundaries, influencing writers, poets, and translators globally. His unique approach to poetry and philosophy often integrated elements from Persian, Arabic, and Turkic traditions, making his works a cornerstone of Central Asian literary heritage. While much of Navoi's legacy is attributed to his original poetry, his contributions to the field of translation are equally significant. Through his translations, Navoi facilitated the exchange of ideas, values, and aesthetics between diverse cultures, thereby enriching global literature. This article examines Navoi's translation efforts, their methodologies, and their subsequent influence on world literature. The objective of this study is to analyze Navoi’s influence on global literary traditions through the lens of his translation works. Methods. This study employs a qualitative research approach, incorporating textual analysis and comparative literary studies to examine the influence of Alisher Navoi’s translations on world literature. Primary sources include Navoi’s translated works, such as his interpretations of Persian classics, and secondary sources, such as scholarly articles and books that analyze his impact on global literature. His translations were not mere literal renditions but deeply artistic reinterpretations that preserved the spirit of the original works while adapting them to new audiences. Navoi demonstrated a masterful ability to navigate between languages, particularly Persian and Chagatai, which enabled him to convey complex ideas, emotions, and cultural values in ways that resonated with diverse readerships. Results. Navoi's translations significantly contributed to the refinement of the Chagatai language. His work elevated the language’s literary status, integrating sophisticated poetic forms and introducing new lexical elements derived from Persian and Arabic. This not only enriched the Chagatai literary tradition but also set a foundation for the development of modern Uzbek. His translations acted as a bridge, connecting Turkic-speaking communities to the vast intellectual and cultural heritage of the Persianate world. One of the most notable aspects of Navoi’s translations is their thematic richness. He selected works that aligned with his philosophical ideals, such as love, morality, and divine connection, which he reinterpreted to suit the cultural and spiritual sensibilities of his audiences. For instance, his adaptations often emphasized universal human values, transcending regional and temporal boundaries. This universality made his works appealing not only within Central Asia but also to later scholars and literary enthusiasts beyond the region. Moreover, Navoi’s translations were instrumental in creating a two-way cultural exchange. While he brought Persian literary treasures to Turkic audiences, his own works, infused with Chagatai linguistic and cultural elements, later influenced Persian literature and even reached the Ottoman Empire. European Orientalists in the 19th century, fascinated by Navoi’s poetic ingenuity, further propagated his legacy, thereby introducing his ideas to the Western world. Navoi’s translations underscore the role of literature as a medium for dialogue between civilizations. His ability to transcend linguistic and cultural barriers allowed his translations to become timeless conduits of knowledge, beauty, and human connection. His influence continues to be felt in modern literary studies, where his works are analyzed for their contributions to global cultural heritage. Discussion. Alisher Navoi’s role as a translator highlights the transformative potential of literary translation in shaping global literature. His ability to preserve the essence of the original texts while enriching them with his cultural and linguistic perspective is a testament to his literary genius. Navoi’s translations did not merely adapt texts but reimagined them for new audiences, making them accessible and relevant across cultures. The study underscores the importance of Navoi's efforts in promoting intercultural understanding. By bringing Persian and Arabic literary treasures to Turkic audiences, Navoi fostered a sense of shared cultural heritage. This not only strengthened literary traditions in Central Asia but also laid the groundwork for future translators and writers to engage in cross-cultural literary dialogues. Furthermore, Navoi’s influence extends into the modern era. His translations continue to be studied and celebrated for their artistic merit and their role in fostering global literary networks. 99 AMERICAN Journal of Language, Literacy and Learning in STEM Education www. grnjournal.us Conclusion. Alisher Navoi’s contributions to translation have left an indelible mark on world literature. His ability to mediate between cultures through his translations reflects his profound understanding of the unifying power of literature. By examining his methodologies and their impact, this study highlights Navoi's enduring legacy in promoting intercultural exchange and enriching global literary traditions. His translations were not only acts of linguistic adaptation but also profound artistic endeavors that bridged cultural and philosophical divides. Navoi’s work demonstrates the potential of translation to act as a vehicle for cultural preservation and innovation. By bringing the intellectual and literary achievements of the Persianate world into the Turkic linguistic domain, he not only preserved these treasures but also allowed them to evolve in new cultural contexts. This dual role—as a preserver and innovator—places Navoi among the most influential translators in history. His efforts also underscore the importance of empathy and understanding in translation. Navoi approached each work with deep respect for its original culture while ensuring its accessibility to a new audience. This balance of fidelity and creativity is a hallmark of his genius and a model for modern translation practices. Future research could explore Navoi’s influence on specific literary movements or delve deeper into his untranslated works to uncover further insights into his impact on global literature. Additionally, examining how his legacy has been interpreted and utilized in modern educational and cultural programs could provide a more comprehensive understanding of his role in shaping contemporary intercultural dialogue. Navoi’s translations are a testament to the timeless power of literature to transcend boundaries and unite humanity through shared values and ideals. References: 1. Kaharova Madina Bakhodirovna.
