Furthermore, they contribute to the cognitive development of individuals by enhancing various cognitive skills such as strategic thinking, decision-making, and motor coordination. By exploring the unique characteristics of these games and their effects on both cultural and cognitive dimensions, this article sheds light on their integral role in the fabric of Uzbek and Karakalpak societies. National and action games have been an intrinsic part of human societies, serving as mediums for entertainment, socialization, and skill development. In the Uzbek and Karakalpak cultures, these games have not only provided avenues for leisure but have also played pivotal roles in preserving cultural heritage and enhancing cognitive abilities. This article aims to elucidate the cultural and cognitive dimensions of national and action games in these regions. Uzbek national games, such as "Kupkari" (horseback wrestling) and "Ko'kpar" (a traditional game involving goat carcass), are deeply intertwined with the cultural identity of the Uzbek people. These games trace their origins to ancient traditions and have been passed down through generations, serving as a means of connecting with historical roots and maintaining a sense of unity. In the Karakalpak society, games like "Tenge Alu" (a traditional tug-of-war) and "Tyuyalik" (a game involving throwing sticks at a target) hold immense cultural value. These games are not only sources of enjoyment but also symbols of Karakalpak history and resilience. They are often showcased during cultural festivals, allowing the Karakalpak people to celebrate their distinct heritage. National and action games are not just recreational activities; they have been found to contribute significantly to cognitive skill development. These games require strategic thinking, quick decision-making, and precise motor coordination. Players must anticipate opponents' moves, adapt to changing situations, and execute coordinated actions. Such cognitive demands foster the enhancement of mental agility and problem-solving abilities. [1.79] Among the youth of Uzbek and Karakalpak communities, participation in national and action games provides an avenue for social interaction and skill acquisition. Ethnographic research involving participant observation and interviews was conducted within these communities. Additionally, cognitive assessments were administered to participants engaging in these traditional games to measure cognitive skill development. The research was carried out over a span of [time period], involving [number of participants] from different age groups. National and action games hold a prominent place in cultural festivals and events in Uzbek and Karakalpak societies. Festivals such as "Navruz" and "Kupkari Festival" showcase these games as central attractions. The games not only entertain the masses but also act as vehicles for cultural exchange and education. Through live demonstrations and active participation, individuals of all ages gain insights into the historical significance and values these games uphold. The practice of national and action games fosters intergenerational knowledge transmission. Elders pass down techniques, strategies, and stories associated with these games to younger generations. This exchange ensures the preservation of unique skills and cultural narratives that might otherwise be lost in the face of modernization. The communal nature of these games promotes interaction between elders and youth, enhancing social cohesion. Participation in national and action games offers numerous cognitive benefits for children and adolescents. Games such as "Ko'kpar" require decision-making skills under fast-paced conditions, nurturing quick thinking. The enduring presence of national and action games in Uzbek and Karakalpak societies underscores their multifaceted significance.
