INTRОDUСTIОN English language is one of the most widely spoken languages over the globe and it plays an indispensable role as a means of communication between people with different cultures and backgrounds from any spot of the world. Nowadays, in the era of globalization , it has a huge impact on the development of every sphere, since the language is a vital tool for the world of not only information and advanced technology, but also tourism , scientific conferences and studies, relationship between nations and others.English is included as a mandatory language to be learned in the curriculum of educational organizations in most countries,because knowledge of the language increases the number of opportunities for students in terms of educational and professional development.Even though learning English as a foreign language is challenging , individuals obtain numerous benefits: they observe new ideas and perspectives from several cultures, take up new skills , activities as well as enhancing their cognitive abilities. Although people are aware of the plus sides of English, they consider this language is complicated to learn.In some cases they tend to start acquiring the basics of the language with passion and after a certain period , they find it challenging to continue . The main reason for endeavoring this situation is being bored with grammatical rules and losing motivation because of difficulties to understand it.Teachers usually utilize old-fashioned and similar methods during lessons without searching for recently developed techniques,methods and tasks associated with the interests of students,which lead students to take delight in the process of learning English. In order to motivate beginners to expand their knowledge and master this language, there are some methods to be implemented that can support the convenience of students in understanding English and arise their interests towards studying it.Most common and effective ones are interesting game/activities,rewarding students and using media. Games/activities One of the best ways that can be an alternative to make learning English effortless and more delectable is doing several types of activities and playing games with students.Including different types of activites in the agenda has a myriad of benefits in terms of drawing students’ attention to the lesson with an unusual way and learning the language with interest.Interactive tasks are able to not only create a friendly and competitive atmosphere among learners and teacher,but also encourage students to be communicative and think critically.If activities are http://www/ 47 AMERICAN Journal of Language, Literacy and Learning in STEM Education www. grnjournal.us designated for individual players, students can enhance their multi-tasking and decision-making abilities, prosocial behaviors and self-esteem , whereas playing in collaboration with classmates boost the players’ ability to form connections,build strong bonds between team members, develop their problem-solving skills and so on.It is essential for teachers to choose appropriate activities according to the age group of learners and their level.Majority of the games are intended for revising and learning words,and enhancing speaking skills . For example, Board Race,Simon says,Pictionary and The mime are considered as the stimulating games for younger students to commit the words to their memories. Rewarding students Another effective way to motivate students to learn English is often rewarding them.By this way teachers can evoke their interests and enthusiasm to become high achiever and proficient in English.Learners should be given any kind of presents for having positive behavior,achieving high points in tests,being the winner of games during classes and demonstrating improvements in their performance.Teachers are able to reward students in many forms,namely,giving certificates,medals,scholarships,books which contain English poems or stories and praise verbally among others students or by telling about their achievements to their parents.Giving positive feedbacks on their effort or hard work is also beneficial ,since it boosts not only their desire for acquiring knowledge,but also self-esteem and confidence.Students,especially beginners tend to be thirsty for commendation given by educators to comprehend that their hard work is valued.As a result,they attempt to resume working effectively on English. Using media How can social media be a motivation for learning English? The answer is not that complicated – social media is a widespread phenomenon that nearly everyone is familiar with.The majority of individuals frequently utilize media in order to be entertained,interact,observe information or news,develop their interests nowadays.In brief, social media is a place where people spend most of their spare time.By linking language learning to using media ,students make their learning experience more engaging and pleasurable which can have positive impacts on provoking motivation for mastering English . Instructors should direct students to be enrolled in pursuing this language in their spare time also and give recommendations about how to practice English by watching movies , cartoons and TV shows,listening to songs ,podcasts and communicating with foreigners . After combining media with English,they acknowledge that they are dedicating their precious time for both learning a language and entertainment. In conclusion, the number of English language learners is growing vastly in number.Being the language of international communication is not the only reason for spreading all over the globe.English is an indisputable part of the pathway for personal and professional development at the moment.It is obvious that gaining an understanding of English is strenuous ,especially when the learners are not intrigued by their instructors.As mentioned above, there are three types of approaches to motivate the students to learn the language effectively and high-spiritedly.
