Children's literature is a variable phenomenon that is directly related to the age of the reader, the historical period and the social environment in which the age of the reader is taken into account. Another characteristic of children's literature is its richness of action. It depends on the demand for the plot in children's literature. Keywords: literature, genre, the novel, prose, the period, psychology, the problem. INTRODUCTION In solving the issues related to children's psychology in world children's prose, the characteristic features and leading principles of modern world children's autobiographical, adventure, detective prose occupy an important place. The children's literature of all nations is influenced by the oral creativity of the people at first, then by pandnomism in classical literature, didactic and educational literature, as well as short poems about children, and stories with a simple plot, intended for them. and more came to the field under the influence of literature based on education. World children's literature reached the stage of development of literary genres already in the 18th century. In particular, the prose genres of narrative, short story, novel, adventure- fantasy, detective, autobiography-biography are still among the most widely read literature. Children's literature is a variable phenomenon that is directly related to the age of the reader, the historical period and the social environment in which the age of the reader is taken into account. Another characteristic of children's literature is its richness of action. It depends on the demand for the plot in children's literature. It requires quick, interesting, imaginative, humorous resolution of events. In the 19th century, the image of children took a modest, that is, less place in French literature. Because the period of childhood did not arouse much interest among French writers. A. Gide said about the attitude of French fiction to children: "In all French literature we are faced with disorganization; he feels a certain discomfort even in front of something that has not yet formed. And with that I see for myself the insignificant place that children occupy in the French novel, compared to the English novel or even the Russian literature. There are almost no children in our novels, and when our novelists are occasionally introduced, they often seem conventional, awkward, and uninteresting." (Gide, 1935: 422). Gallery of Children's Characters in French Fiction J.J. In Rousseau's treatise "Emile or Education" (1762) for the first time, the educational ideas about the special importance of the childhood years of a person and the child himself, which should contribute to his maturity thought about. METHODS AND ANALISYS In the introduction to the novel by V. Hugo about the life of Cosette and Gavroche in the film "Les Misérables" (1862), the most popular children's character at that time, he defined the position of the child in the society of that time as a social problem, the essence of which is 244 Journal of Public Diplomacy and International Studies www. grnjournal.us "ignorance the withering of the child from the darkness. Later, Hugo's contemporary J. Sand's interest in childhood also draws attention. In particular, the writer describes children against the background of patriarchal village life in his "Village" stories "Little Fadette" (1849) and "Francois's Finding" (1850). The works of A. France "My Friend's Book" (1885) and J. Renard's "Rijik" (1894), created in the last quarter of the 19th century, stand out. In these works, radically contradictory images of childhood are combined with an autobiographical discourse that develops strongly in the literature of the next century. If the first work describes the happy and innocent life of a child in a loving family, in the second, the little hero grows up to be a person hated by his mother and despised by his father. Thus, in the 19th century, there was a shift in the depiction of childhood, from depicting it as a social reality to focusing on the personal life of the family and the child in it, through an interest in its social status in society. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Belgian poet and playwright M. Maeterlinck created unique children's characters in the play "The Blue Bird" (1908).. This work reveals the symbolic meaning of childhood for the first time in French-language literature, because in it children appear as carriers of a new worldview. The author gives his young heroes the ability to see the spirit of things, although not without the intervention of magical powers. However, later this ability of children loses its magical basis and affects not only things, but also invisible events of human life, and feelings such as friendship, love, and respect are manifested in them. Getting into the essence of events becomes an inseparable feature of children's minds. In 1913, A. Fournier's novel "Grand Meaulne" (1913) appeared, which lyrically presents the author's childhood memories. The cycle "In Search of Lost Time" (1913-1927) also describes the importance of childhood memories for Proust. In 1942, the world was shocked by the crystal purity of "The Little Prince", the brightest child image, which marked the beginning of a qualitatively new perception of childhood in literature, primarily in French. In the second half of the 20th century, the image of childhood and children entered the literature. In this, writers describe children as heroes, realizing the uniqueness of the world of childhood, they looked at the world from the child's point of view as a result of the discovery by psychology of the unique features of children's minds, as well as the mythological line associated with the development of psychoanalytic ideas. Especially noteworthy are the images of children, which are connected by writers with the mythological foundations of children's thinking, revealed through the development of psychoanalytical ideas in the last century. These are, for example, the works of A. de Saint- Exupéry ("The Little Prince" (1942)) and M. Tournier ("Friday, or the member of the Pacific Ocean" (1967), "The King of the Forest" (1970), as well as , his philosophical tales). We will talk about the modern French writer Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and his works. He creates the images of his children in this direction. Schmitt appeared on the literary scene recently (the beginning of the 21st century), but he already managed to gather his fans and attract the attention of many to himself and his work. Journalist T. Moreva writes in the article "Laughing with tears": "All of Schmitt's work is so permeated with philosophy that each work resembles a philosophical treatise" (Moreva, 2006.) In France, E.E. Schmitt became known primarily as a playwright. His plays are performed in theaters all over the world. The writer's work has received a number of awards: Moliere theater awards (for the play "The Guest" in 1994), the French Academy Award for his entire works (2001) and the Rotary Literary Award (2005. Many of his works have been filmed, in particular, "Freedom" (2000), "Mr. Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Qur'an" (starring Omar Sherif, the actor received the "Oscar" in 2004), "Odetta Tulemonde" (2008). CONCLUSION In conclusion, we must say that in this article, French children's literature and E.E. In Schmitt's works, special attention was paid to the image of children and the importance of childhood in a child's life. Also, in the writers' works, the psychological impact on the child's mind, his 245 Journal of Public Diplomacy and International Studies www. grnjournal.us childhood imagination, the existence of a number of philosophical ideas behind it, are of great importance in revealing their views on the world.
