Based on the objectives and tasks of the course, the article outlines the stages of developing students' independent learning skills and competencies. Applied Decorative Arts, independent learning, ornamentation technology, ornament composition, coloring, finishing, theoretical and practical knowledge, skills, and competencies. Introduction Fundamental changes are taking place in the social, economic, political, and spiritual life of our country. In particular, the adoption of the new version of the Law on Education plays a significant role in the reforms of the education sector. The "Concept for the Development of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030", approved by the Presidential Decree No. PF-5847 on October 8, 2019, outlines the priority directions for systematically reforming higher education. It emphasizes the importance of raising the process of training highly qualified specialists with modern knowledge and independent thinking to a new qualitative level, modernizing higher education, and strategically enhancing the development of the social sphere and economic sectors based on advanced educational technologies. In particular, the Concept sets the task of increasing the share of independent learning hours, fostering students' ability to engage in independent learning, critical and creative thinking, systematic analysis, and entrepreneurial skills. It also focuses on strengthening competencies in the educational process by introducing methodologies and technologies aimed at enhancing practical skills. Furthermore, it American Journal of Research in Humanities and Social Sciences Volume 33 February - 2025 P a g e | 64 www.americanjournal.org underscores the importance of integrating advanced pedagogical technologies, curricula, and teaching materials based on international education standards into the learning process. Additionally, the Concept highlights that students' ability to learn independently, engage in self- directed work, and continuously improve their qualifications will enable specialists to acquire the necessary competencies, develop creativity and research skills, and enhance logical thinking. Research Methodology In conducting our research, we relied on the perspectives of Uzbek scholars such as B.B. Baymetov, S.S. Bulatov, N.X. Tolipov, and S. Abdirasilov, who have explored the organization of students' independent artistic and creative activities, the effective ways of developing their creative potential, and the opportunities for effectively organizing independent learning sessions in the subject of Applied Decorative Arts. We also considered their insights on students' conscious, active, and independent engagement in the learning process. Analysis and Results The organization of the educational process plays a crucial role in training qualified specialists. Currently, academic curricula allocate 40/60 to 50/50 percent ratios of students' total academic workload between contact (classroom) learning and independent learning in undergraduate programs. With changes in the curriculum, several topics and issues within various subjects must be studied through independent learning. Independent learning involves students mastering part of the course material on their own. Independent learning is a structured activity aimed at acquiring theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and competencies by independently studying educational materials, completing assignments of varying complexity, and performing practical tasks both inside and outside the classroom in a creative and independent manner. Additionally, independent learning serves as an educational format designed to reinforce acquired knowledge, develop skills, and independently explore supplementary information or materials. Independent Work Independent work is an active learning method in which students solve academic tasks based on the teacher’s assignment and guidance. It involves the organization and execution of students' specific activities in connection with a given objective. A student's independent work is a process that requires high levels of engagement, creativity, independent analysis, initiative, and the ability to complete all tasks thoroughly and on time. Using outdated teaching methods with modern students makes achieving good results difficult. It is essential to capture their interest, engage them, and direct their activity in a structured manner. Therefore, the importance of individual independent tasks aimed at increasing students' motivation for learning, enhancing their independence, and developing their creative activity in the educational process will become even more significant in the future. The organization of independent learning sessions is closely related to the issue of increasing students' independence and creative activity. Active learning begins with a student’s understanding of the given task, recognizing its necessity, and feeling the need to complete it correctly. Students' engagement in American Journal of Research in Humanities and Social Sciences Volume 33 February - 2025 P a g e | 65 www.americanjournal.org the learning process is influenced by various factors, including the nature of the tasks, their cognitive complexity, and their practical significance. In the teaching of Applied Decorative Arts, the completion of independent learning assignments plays a crucial role in ensuring that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in accordance with modern educational standards. The tasks assigned to students for the implementation of independent educational work on the subject of Applied decorative arts are mainly intended to strengthen, deepen the knowledge gained in lectures and practical classes, repeat the studied educational materials, form practical skills and qualifications. The content of independent educational work will be inextricably linked with the content and purpose of the educational subject. The content and methodology of organizing independent educational sessions on the subject of Applied decorative arts, which are taught in higher educational institutions, has hardly been developed. In our opinion, it is necessary to develop a calendar-theme plan of Independent Education, which will be organized on the subject of Applied decorative art. It is important to clearly state in it the topics of Independent Education and the forms of their implementation, in which practical work assignments are designed to be performed in the audience and at home. As a result, it is ensured that students independently complete a number of assignments at home. This further increases their skills, skills, and creativity. Masterfully structured individual assignments often promote the manifestation of creative independence in students. The main conditions for the effective organization of independent education are as follows:: - the science of Independent Education and the nature of research; - gain the need for independent knowledge; - individual performance of independent educational work; - methodological leadership in the organization of Independent Education; - control the independent performance of student assignments in science; - assessment of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills; - to increase students ' interest in the science and profession of Applied decorative arts; - teaching students to think creatively; - preparation of theoretical and practical tasks in order to select talented students in the field of Applied decorative art and give them in-depth knowledge; -to create conditions for students to compose, color and beautify pattern compositions from simple to complex, to more widely teach the technology of laying patterns on various objects, to independently perform pattern compositions using computers; -taking into account the results of the current, intermediate and final assessment of students in the assessment of the results of independent work. The development of skills and abilities of independent work in students is carried out in several stages: - study and analysis of skills and qualifications of students in performance activities; - determination of the content of Independent Education and the development of technology for performing independent work; - determination of the educational load and the required time limit of Independent Education of students during training and during extracurricular activities on the basis of the established educational content; - development of the content of independent work, optimal planning of training and homework, Independent Education; American Journal of Research in Humanities and Social Sciences Volume 33 February - 2025 P a g e | 66 www.americanjournal.org - testing of designed Independent Education; - selection of independent forms of education for the implementation of the process of learning theoretical and practical knowledge; - development of methodological developments, program animations; -control and evaluation of students ' skills in mastering educational materials, independent work, computer use. Independent work on the subject of Applied decorative arts can be performed in the auditorium and mainly at home. Independent work performed in practical classes organized in the auditorium is carried out by a professor. Students complete assignments independently. The faculty is in control of how students complete the assignment. Independent educational work, which is also performed at home, is organized for a certain purpose. Additional literature is widely used in this. The result of Independent Education of students is assessed based on the score they have accumulated. In this case, the sum of the points earned by the student in the performance of independent educational work performed during the semester is summarized in conjunction with the practical work finds performed in avditoria at the time of the current control. Otherwise, the student is considered to have not completed the assignments. With such a student will have to work individually. By properly organizing independent educational work, it is possible to identify low-acquiring students and provide them with additional support in the necessary directions. The use of modern pedagogical technologies in independent educational activities organized in the subject of Applied decorative arts makes the educational process more effective and interesting. To develop the creative abilities of students, the following are recommended:: 1. Wider implementation of cluster and multimedia technologies; 2. Practical implementation of Project Education; 3. Interesting organization of classes using gamification; 4. Applying the Blended learning model to fine arts classes; 5. Development of teamwork through a collegiate approach; 6. Development of self-assessment skills of students using reflection technology; 8. Improving the skills of teachers in modern technologies. Conclusion In conclusion, we must say that it is of great importance that the student of today, having acquired practical, qualification skills, is needed in the future during his pedagogical activity, in order to get acquainted with the information we have highlighted above in the science of Applied decorative art. At the same time, if, among the majority of subjects, teaching the young generation on the basis of pedagogical technologies that have tried to brighten up on a new topic by organizing circle training from the art of applied decoration, we will have ensured the continuity and continuity of the teacher- disciple traditions in applied decoration art.
