The connection between computer technology and Internet is getting closer and closer. As an important tool in modern life, work and entertainment, network security is particularly important. In the current information age, the Internet has been widely popularized, and computer technology is constantly improving and innovating. The remarkable progress of information technology has promoted the integration of computer information technology and Internet. The continuous development and innovation of computer information technology has made great contributions to the security of the Internet network environment, and has also made rapid development under the background of the rapid development of the Internet. Starting with the analysis of the Internet and its main security threats, this paper discusses in detail the application of computer information technology in the Internet. Overview of Computer Information Technology As far as information technology is concerned, mastering computer technology requires understanding the process of information generation, transmission, management and processing. It mainly uses the knowledge of network communication, digital encryption and computer to solve problems, including computer technology, sensor technology and communication technology. Computer information technology is the general term used by computers for information management and processing. Computer information technology mainly designs, develops and installs information systems or application software through computer technology and network communication technology, mainly including application storage, sensing and communication technology. With the progress of society and the development of science, computer technology is more and more used in people's daily life, widely used in the production, processing and exchange of computer information. 3. The Security Threats Facing the Internet Communication technology includes computer technology and network technology. They can connect independent computers through the network, so that information can be transmitted and shared between computers. Through computer network connection, information can be effectively transmitted, but there are security loopholes. The application of information security in computer network technology is related to people's information security and network security, and plays an important role in people's information security. In the process of informatization construction, enterprises need to do a good job in information protection, so that the data and information of enterprises can be fully protected and the information security problems that affect enterprise operation and social development can be avoided. Viruses may also spread to other computers, causing damage. The fragility of network operating system is no exception, especially with the rapid progress and development of computer information technology. Although operating system owners have evaluated and upgraded their systems, vulnerabilities still exist and become more and more obvious, making it easier for attackers to detect and exploit them. Using computer information technology to scan computers and networks, we can understand the security settings and application services in computers and networks, find security vulnerabilities in the system in time, and objectively evaluate the network risk level. In the security protection of computer and network system, firewall and antivirus software are passive defense measures, while vulnerability scanning technology is an active defense measure using computer information technology, which can effectively avoid illegal attacks. At present, with the rapid development of the Internet, e-commerce came into being. If a user accidentally opens a webpage containing Trojan virus when shopping online, the Trojan virus will invade the user's system, and the user will get the transaction password when paying in online banking, which will cause huge economic losses to the user. 5. The Application of Computer Information Technology in the Internet A firewall is a protective barrier connecting the internal network and the external network. Before use, the system administrator can set and control the incoming and outgoing data, form a gateway, strengthen network access control, and avoid the influence and threat of unsafe factors in the external network, thus ensuring the healthy use of the internal network and effectively protecting the security of computer network information. Firewall access in LAN can effectively filter and segment incoming information from outside, and intercept unsafe access brought by network security. It can also be used to build a secure network with firewall as the core, and configure firewall test software in the firewall to monitor access and audit a part of the computer network. Virus is a destructive and contagious malignant process. With the help of computers, it can spread rapidly in the network environment. It not only affects the normal operation of the computer, but also copies the information files of the computer and sends out wrong instructions, resulting in system paralysis. Therefore, when applying computer information technology on the Internet, we must pay attention to the use of anti-virus software to prevent the outbreak of viruses. Usually, in a specific local area network, it is necessary to use matching anti-virus software, so that the anti-virus software can analyze and deal with the security factors in the local area network in time, maintain and integrate the local area network, fully realize the control of Internet viruses, and reduce the impact of Internet viruses on Internet operation. When the virus harms the Internet, all the information on the Internet will disappear, which will bring many unfavorable factors such as information loss and information leakage to Internet users. Internet technology is highly exploitable. In order to improve the security, stability and reliability of Internet operation and protect Internet information, it is necessary to use encryption technology in computer information technology to encrypt information on the Internet, thus providing a safe environment for traditional Internet information and preventing users' information from being stolen. Undoubtedly, the application of cryptography on the Internet is to ensure the security of network information, so that information can be spread and copied in a relatively safe environment, so that information can not be stolen or the system can not be invaded, and the security barrier of Internet operation can be improved. 6. Conclusion To sum up, through the application of computer information technology on the Internet, we can provide various security guarantees for the operation of the Internet from all angles and levels. The application of firewall technology, password technology and virus scanning technology in computer information technology provides security for people to use the network safely and avoids a lot of economic losses caused by network security risks.
