* The chance of death in patients under tracheal intubation was significantly 
higher than those who did not receive this supportive intervention. Adjustment 
for the confounding effect of underlying diseases, as well as for the severity of 
COVID-19 infection reduced the severity of the association by approximately 
20%. However, the strength of association between death and intubation 
remains high and statistically significant.
