ARESTY RUTGERS UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH JOURNAL, VOLUME I, ISSUE II INTRODUCTION TO VOLUME I, ISSUE II OF THE ARESTY RUTGERS UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH JOURNAL ✵ Rutgers University is a research powerhouse, fueled by the thousands of under- graduates who invest themselves in the research community each year. The Aresty RURJ has been established to showcase the cutting-edge research being conducted at this institution by providing a platform for undergraduate research- ers to publish their work. Not only does this journal showcase high-quality under- graduate research, but its undergraduate-led founding and development serves as a testament to the heights that the students at Rutgers are capable of reaching. The Aresty RURJ has proven to be a valuable learning experience for all those involved. The undergraduate reviewers are provided unique exposure to the re- viewer side of the peer review process, which undergraduates seldom have the opportunity to experience. The authors undergo the peer review process, which is modeled after other peer reviewed journals and includes several stages of rig- orous reviews. The pilot year of this journal has fortunately been a success, and we have high hopes for the future. The editorial team of Volume I, Issue II has set a high prec- edent for subsequent iterations. We would like to express our thanks and appre- ciation to the Junior Founders, authors, undergraduate reviewers, graduate re- viewers, faculty reviewers, copy editors, Chief Copy Editor, Creative Director, Aresty Research Center administrators, Rutgers Libraries team, and faculty advi- sors—all of whom have contributed significantly to this issue. We hope that the Aresty RURJ continues to weave itself into the fabric of Rutgers research and acts as a reminder of undergraduate achievement and potential.
