Anderson, Vanderbilt University • Michael Hemenway, Iliff School of Theology • Jérémie LeBlanc, Saint Paul University • Christine Fruin, Atla, Staff Liason While originally defined as a task force, the group was converted into the Scholarly Communication Committee this year with a regular rota- tion of committee members with terms. Our first in-person meeting as a committee occurred on October 17–18 in connection with a broader strategic alignment meeting that included the Atla Board and other committees. In addition to contrib- uting to a strategic planning discussion, we reflected on our “charge,” talked about opportunities in open educational resources (OER) devel- opment, network analysis, and Wikicite, and did planning toward the ACRL Roadshow and annual conference. A major effort of the committee and Atla staff was sponsoring the ACRL Scholarly Communication Roadshow on Friday, Febru- ary 22, 2019. The event served almost 40 attendees, including the Atla Board, and offered a number of generous travel scholarships for those outside of the greater Chicago area. This day-long interactive workshop guided participants through scholarly communication fundamentals including publishing, copyright, and library outreach, as well as providing deep dives into text and data mining issues for humanities research and open access and open education topics that are most relevant to the institutions served by Atla member libraries. The workshop was led by Carla Myers, Assistant Professor and Coordi- nator of Scholarly Communications at Miami University Libraries, and Rachael Samberg, Scholarly Communication Officer at the University of California – Berkeley. Committee & Task Force Reports 11 The committee was pleased that the 2019 Atla Annual in Vancouver featured a number of plenary and program sessions focused around scholarly communication. Members of the committee provided particular leadership to a Wikidata editathon, a Python workshop, and a panel of those contributing to an open access volume on digital humanities.
