Committee & Task Force Reports 15 Technical Services Michael Bradford The Technical Services Interest Group (TSIG) Business Meeting was held on Friday, June 14, 2019. Ondrea Murphy (secretary) was absent from the conference this year and Michael Bradford volunteered to keep notes to share later. Steering Committee Election Chairman Richard Lammert was unable to determine the rotation of officers coming off of the Steering Committee and to recruit new candidates in time to hold an election at the meeting. He will follow- up with a webinar meeting and figure out next steps for an election. Online Conversations via Video Conference It was suggested to have an ongoing set of Technical Services conver- sations via webinar/Zoom meeting. Richard will reach out to Member Services to determine technical infrastructure needs that the Asso- ciation could provide. Topics from the preconference email discus- sions on the TSIG listserv could act as a starting off point for these conversations. EBSCO Historical Monographs Project Richard met with Brenda Bailey-Hainer last year and was able to determine enough matching information was available in the existing spreadsheets, which did not need manual intervention by a cataloger. There are some leftovers and Richard will follow-up. CC:DA Update (Donna Wells) Most of the discussions that occurred at the CC:DA sessions at ALA Midwinter in Seattle surrounded the revisions to RDA. The “real work” of the committee will begin after the revisions occur. 16 ANNUAL YEARBOOK CONSER Funnel Survey (Michael Bradford) Michael received the results from the CONSER Funnel interest survey that was published earlier this spring. He is looking at the results (not many respondents, which was expected due to the specialized nature of the funnel). He will share the survey results and analysis with the Professional Development Committee and determine next steps and reach out to the interested survey respondents who qualify for the funnel. TCB Update (Leslie Engelson) The transition to the OJS platform is complete. The editorial board will remain the same next year and Leslie will be returning as editor again. Leslie put a call out for Testimony articles. SACO Funnel Update (Richard Lammert) A SACO Funnel webinar will occur by the end of September, which is also the end of the Library of Congress’ fiscal year. Richard gave the names of interested members to LC and he will soon be sending out a Doodle poll to schedule with participants. The webinar will also be publicized via the PDC webinar programming, open to all. Atla 2020 Detroit Possible Sessions Walk-through of the new RDA, which is expected to be launched by February 2020. Donna Wells volunteered to lead a conversation group, because of her role on CC:DA, but intimated that she’s not an expert. TROT Revision Richard e-mailed Paul Frank at LC to determine the best way to handle the TROT revision: as an updated edition or as completely new work. The evaluation of the vocabulary by LC is different based on the path that is chosen.
