SUMMARY

Eight alumni of the Atla-sponsored course LIS 568 LE, Theological 
Librarianship, in the LEEP program at the University of Illinois / 
Urbana-Champaign, met with Dr. Berryhill, their former instructor, 
during a Zoom session on June 25, 2020, from noon to 1 p.m. After 
introductions, Dr. Berryhill mentioned the recent redevelopment of 
accreditation standards by the Association of Theological Schools in 
the United States and Canada. Participants reflected on their profes-
sional paths since taking the course, on their experience at Atla 
Annual 2020, including its diversity, and on features of the course 
which they had appreciated, such as its opening ritual of silent gath-
ering and favorite guest speakers. The group suggested that David 
Stewart’s The Literature of Theology might be updated as a LibGuide 
hosted by Atla as a class project.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Theological Librarianship has been offered every academic year at 
the iSchool at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since 2005. 
In its fifteen years, the Atla-sponsored course has enrolled more 
than 200 students, with an average class size of 13. The Spring 2020 
class enrolled nine students. Two members of the 2020 class and two 
members of the first class in 2005 were at this meeting.
