YEAR IN REVIEW Each librarian reported that during COVID-19 shutdowns and restrictions, their libraries continued to serve the educational and research needs of their constituents electronically. In general, librarians felt that their existing facility with electronic resources was of great help to their classroom colleagues when campuses pivoted almost overnight to remote instruction. Reopening timing was variable, depending on the policies of states and of campuses. ROUND ROBIN REPORTS Harding School of Theology Sheila reported that the library’s new director, Jessica Holland, will begin her duties on July 1, 2021. Jessica is an alumna of Abilene Christian University and the University of Texas. Former director Bob Turner accepted a call in 2020 to full time congregational minis- try. Sheila served as Interim Director. Previous director Don Mere- dith was recalled in summer 2021 to teach Advanced Theological Research. Jessica will be teaching ATR in the fall. Denominational Group Meetings 41 Milligan University / Emmanuel Christian Seminary David serves as the theological librarian for Milligan’s Emmanuel Christian Seminary. The university has a single library in two loca- tions. The director of libraries is Gary Daught. David serves as Assis- tant Director and works in the theological library location. He has interests in early Christian theology and Syriac. The libraries at Milligan were open under COVID-19 restrictions during the 2020- 21 academic year with contactless pickup and delivery on campus. George Fox University Although George Fox University has Quaker origins, Kate identifies with the Campbell-Stone tradition. She is the theological librarian at George Fox. Although the graduate seminary programs moved entirely online in 2020-21, Kate was onsite at the library, teaching in person when possible. Hope International University Robin reported that her library spent March through August of 2020 closed. During the closure, HIU relocated a satellite campus to Fuller- ton and reallocated some of the library’s space to classrooms and office spaces and suffered reduction in staff. However, the library was opened minimal hours with COVID-19 protocols in place during the 2020-2021 school year to accommodate local students who did not have adequate WiFi, computers, or study space at home. They averaged about 4-5 student visitors per day. The library is closed for summer 2021 but plans to reopen with regular hours in the fall. Abilene Christian University Carisse reported that former library dean John Weaver relocated to Florida College in Tampa in December of 2019. Director of Educa- tional Technology Marisa Beard served as Interim Director. James A. Wiser began his duties as Dean of Brown Library on August 1, 2020. After closure in the spring of 2020, the library was reopened in the summer but operated under COVID-19 restrictions for spacing, masks, and cleaning.
