Chapter 7, “Blake Interpreting Blake: The Gates of Paradise,” demonstrates “how Blake used the consolidated myth as the basis for reinterpreting his own work” (255), in this case “to remediate his vision through what had become his own horizon of expectations, adding some mottos, a verbal apparatus and a concluding bimodal image act, all to create a new perspective from which to view The Gates of Paradise” (259).
