T h e council's purpose is to assist in the solution of the problems of libraries gen- erally, but more especially of the prob- lems of research libraries, by conducting or supporting research, demonstrating new techniques and methods, and dis- seminating the results, through grants for these purposes to institutions or individ- uals or in other ways, by coordinating efforts to improve the resources and serv- ices of libraries, and by improving rela- tions between American and foreign li- braries and archives.	cache/crl-11032.pdf	txt/crl-11032.txt
