Melissa Cardenas-Dow has been ap-
pointed social sciences librarian at the Cali-
fornia State University-Sacramento University 
Library. 

Karen M. Collins is now electronic re-
sources librarian for the Taylor Library of the 
University of Arkansas-Monticello. 

Will Cook has joined the University of 
North Carolina-Greensboro as facilities man-
ager at the University Libraries. 

Sarah Crissinger has accepted the schol-
arly communication librarian position with 
the Indiana University-Bloomington Libraries. 

Samantha Harlow is now online learning 
librarian in research, outreach, and instruc-
tion at the University of North Carolina-
Greensboro.

Becky Imamoto has been appointed 
head of the collection development depart-
ment at the University of California-Irvine 
Libraries.

Rebecca McCall is now clinical librarian 
at the Health Sciences Library at the University 
of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Emily Merrifield has been named un-
dergraduate experience librarian at Califor-
nia State University-Sacramento University 
Library.

Rachel Keiko Stark has been appointed 
health sciences librarian at California State 
University-Sacramento University Library.

Retirements

Lynn Cline, head of content management 
and acquisitions, has retired from the Missouri 
State University Libraries. During his time of

service, he was involved in several coopera-
tive ventures among libraries in the region 
and through MOBIUS, Missouri’s state-wide 
consortium of academic and public libraries. 

Deaths

Peter Zuber, engineering and technology li-
brarian at Brigham Young University (BYU), 
has died. Zuber was a member of STS for 
many years having served as cochair of 
the Publications Committee, moderator for 
STS-L, and most recently on the Scholarly 
Communication Committee. Before joining 
BYU in 2005, Zuber worked at Xerox Corpo-
ration and at several start-up companies that 
invented and developed color copiers and 
color printing systems in the Atlanta, Georgia, 
area. He spent time traveling back and forth 
to Japan working with Sharp Corporation 
to manufacture these products. He has over 
30 patents in his name. In 2003 Zuber was 
able to fulfill a lifetime dream and got his 
private pilot’s license. He and his wife bought 
their first airplane, a Piper Cherokee, on the 
100th anniversary of the Wright Brother’s 
first flight.
