Baker has retired from the Stanford University Libraries, after serv- ing 18 years as Rein- hard Family Curator of Judaica and Hebraica Collections. From 2010 to 2017 he was also the assistant university librarian for collection development (Human- ities and Social Sci- ences). Before joining Stanford, he was head librarian of the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York City (1987–99).
