A A TA Online The Getty Conservation Institute (GCI), in as sociation with the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC), will launch “AATA Online: Abstracts of International Conservation Literature” on June 8, 2002. This database will initially contain all the entries from “Art and Archaeology Techni cal Abstracts” and “IIC Abstracts,” published from 1955 to the present. It will be kept up-to- date with quarterly additions of new abstract entries. By the end of 2002, the database will also contain the entries from 20 AATA special supplements and approximately 2,000 abstracts published by the Fogg Art Museum and the Freer Gallery of Art between 1932 and 1955. “AATA Online” will become the complete online database for this information, containing more than 100,000 abstracts for publications about preservation and conservation. The interface offered with this sendee will permit setting search preferences, saving search strategies, notice of new abstracts in preselected subject areas, downloading and printing search results, and browsing the AATA classification scheme and subject categories. “AATA Online” will be available free-of-charge at http://www.getty.edu/conservation.
