Fred Blum has been named director o e University Library and Center of Educa nal Resources at Eastern Michigan Univer sity in Ypsilanti Michigan, effectiv June 1974. Dr. Blu holds degrees fro Oberlin, Ohio Univer sity, and the Univer sity of Iowa (Ph.D. musicology, 1959), a well as the MSL from the Catholi University of Amer ica. He did a brief stin with the New Yor Dr. Fred Blum Public Library befor two years of post ctoral study and teaching in Europe. In 196 joined the staff of the Library of Congress rving first as a reference librarian in th usic Division and then as editor of the Na nal Register of Microform Masters in th nion Catalog Division. Since 1967 he ha en with the Catholic University of Americ raries, first as head of Special Services De rtment and, from 1971, as head of Technica rvices Department. During this time he wa volved in various library activities of the Con rtium of Washington Area Universities. ACADEMIC BUSINESS LIBRARIANS-AUTHORS SOUGHT Elizabeth Casellas, associate professor and director of the Norman Mayer Li­ brary, Graduate School of Business Ad­ ministration, Tulane University, New Orleans, LA 70118, is conducting a na­ tional survey among academic business librarians to determine faculty status, characteristics of publication, and other data. All authors who have not sent in their list of publications to Professor Ca­ sellas are urged to do so in order that general trends can be observed and char­ acteristics noted. A search has been made in NUC and in L L for titles published by academic business librarians, but the list is far from complete. Your coopera­ tion would be much appreciated. He has published widely in the fields of musicology and librarianship. Dr. Blum is married to the former Beula Ei- senstadt (Ed.D., University of Michigan). Donald C. Anthony, associate university li­ brarian at Columbia University since 1969, has been appointed director of libraries at Syracuse University, effective July 1. Anthony will suc­ ceed Warren N. Boes, who was director from 1968 to last July 1, when he took a similar po­ sition at the University of Georgia, Athens. Metod M. Milac, acting director of libraries at Syracuse, will return to his position as assistant director in July. Anthony, who was forty-eight on March 29, joined Columbia in 1966 as assistant direc­ tor of libraries. For five years before that he was associate librarian and head of the manu­ scripts and history section of the New York State Library at Albany. He has been librarian at the Fargo, North Dakota, public library and the library at Wilmington, Delaware, which he established to house the archives of E. I. du- Pont de Nemours & Co. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1951 and his master of library science in 1954 at the Uni­ versity of Wisconsin and has studied at the University of Geneva, Switzerland; American University; and the Graduate School of Public Administration at SUNY Albany. In 1970-71 he studied the use of audiovisual materials in university libraries under a grant fr6m the Council on Library Resources. His wife, Mary, is also a librarian. They have three children.
