January 1983 / 3 signed in folder style w ith interior pockets and a cut-out window. Contents include both general prom otional materials and discipline-related sam ple instructional aids produced by m any American academic libraries. A short reading list is included which contains a few sources on the role of aca demic libraries and some readings tailored to the p articu lar discipline for w hich the folder is in tended. Although the press kits were originally designed for distribution to the offices of professional associ ations in higher education, they can also be used easily by BI librarians who are involved w ith con tacting the faculty and teaching departm ents on their own campuses or who can distribute them to campus administrators. ACRL members are encouraged to assist the pro ject either by volunteering to take the exhibit to conferences w ith them or by subm itting m aterial for inclusion in the packets. A continuing effort has been m ade to place li brarians on the conference programs of other pro fessional associations. Although the proposal sub m itted to the A m erican Association of H igher Education was rejected, Mary Reichel has agreed to submit a proposal for the 1983 American Politi cal Science Association Conference in Chicago en titled “T he Im pact of Computerized L ibrary D ata Bases on Teaching Political Science.” Ray McGin nis will propose a presentation for the 1983 Ameri can Psychological Association meetings in Ana heim. And the BI Liaison Project Officer is busy coordinating a proposal involving both C anadian and American librarians th at will be subm itted for the American C ouncil on E ducation’s O ctober 1983 m eeting in Toronto. A list of national conference dates is available from the LOEX Clearinghouse, Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI 48197. The list includes details on possibilities for booth rental.
