H ousehold p ro d u c t s a fe ty The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has mounted a Household Products Database on its W eb site at householdproducts.nlm . nih.gov/index.htm. It contains information about the manufacturer, active ingredients, health effects, and handling and disposal of more than 4,000 brand name products. This information was gleaned from Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) supplied by the manu facturers. The database may be browsed al phabetically by brand name or by one of seven categories (auto products, home inside, pesticides, landscape/yard, personal care/use, home maintenance, and hobbies and crafts). Products are cross-linked to each other by similar usage, manufacturer and active ingre dients, and the database is linked to NLM toxi cology resources.
