Technology is presented as a tool to achieve specific collection’s goals, so available tech nologies are evaluated for assisting or hinder ing access and preservation o f collections. The authors use a series o f questions to facilitate planning decisions and provide a chart o f the resulting decision-making matrix. This publi cation is an outgrowth o f w ork d on e by a Harvard University Library task force o n digital projects.
