Ethnicity conference planned for June T he annou ncem ent and call for presentations for the 8th Annual National C onference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education are now available. This c o n ­ ference will b e held Ju n e 1– 6, 1995, in Santa Fe, New M exico. T he con feren ce is sponsored by the Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies, College o f Continuing Education, Uni­ versity o f Oklahom a. Designed to provide a forum for discussion, dialogue, and exchange o f information, the con­ fe re n c e will fo cu s o n creatin g institutional chang e to improve racial and ethnic relations on cam pus and o n expanding opportunities for the traditionally underrepresented populations. Administrators, faculty, professional staff, and student leaders are invited. Keynote speakers include: Cornell W est on “Race Matters,” Norma V. Cant on “Concerns o f the U.S. Departm ent o f Education Regarding A ccess and Equity in Higher Education,” and Ephraim Isaac on “Racism, Anti-Semitism, and Academic Responsibility: Toward a Vision o f a New Curriculum.” More than 40 m ajor w ork­ shops and 20 critical dialogue sessions are in­ cluded in the con ference.
