P e o p l e i n t h e N e w sAnn-Christe Galloway Appointments Michael Doylen has been named associate vice provost and direc- tor of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Libraries. Since 2016, Doylen has served as director on an interim basis. Prior to this posi- tion, Doylen served in the UWM Libraries as assis- tant director for archives, Special Collections, and the Music Library (2012–19), as interim assistant director for User Services (2010–12), and as head of the Archives (2003–16). Neil B. Weijer has been appointed curator of the Hanson Rare Book Collection in the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida. Weijer previously held the Council on Library and Information Resources postdoctoral curatorial fel- lowship in premodern and early modern studies at the Johns Hopkins University. Myranda Fuentes has been appointed insti- tutional history research specialist at Dartmouth College Library. Amelia Looby has been appointed business, economics, and engineering librarian at Dartmouth College Library. Shaun Martin has been appointed head of scholarly communication, copyright, and publish- ing at Dartmouth College Library. Jenn Natale has been appointed head of re- search and learning for Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Dartmouth College Library. Elaina Vitale has been appointed biomedical research and education librarian at Dartmouth College Library. Retirements Charles A. Julian has retired as library director and associate university librarian at Potomac State College of West Virginia University in Keyser, West Virginia. He will continue to serve as a commissioner on the West Virginia Library Commission. Deaths Daniel L. Knoch, retired director of the li- brary at Hillsdale College after 43 years of service to the college and the profession, has died. Knoch was hired in 1976 as a techni- cal services librarian at Hillsdale College. He served in that posi- tion until 2000, when he took over as direc- tor and head librarian. Knoch’s tenure at Hill- sdale College included overseeing many early adoptions of services from OCLC and Innovative Interfaces, includ- ing being the first library to install the Sierra library management system.
