Sloan joined the CARLI staff well before it was known as CARLI, and even before CARLI’s predecessor organization ILCSO (the Illinois Library Computer Systems Or ganization) became known by that name. Sloan is the author of Linked Systems for Resource Sharing (Boston: G.K. Hall, 1990) and many articles and is a wellknown con tributor to many libraryrelated electronic forums.
