Prior to 1993, she held several posts in the libraries of the Claremont Colleges, including head of special collections. Allen was chair of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Standing Committee of the International Federation of Library Associations. She also served on the Council of the Bibliographical Society of America, the board of the American Printing History Association, and the Board of Visitors and Governors of St. John’s College. Currently she serves on the boards of the Book Club of California and the Zamorano Club of Los Zhaohui Xue, Chinese Studies librarian at Stanford University’s East Asia Library, co- edited Chinese Studies in North America: Research and Resource, published by Zhong- hua Book Company. Elizabeth McCraw has been appointed special projects cataloger at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Library. Diana Reid has joined the University of Louisville Libraries as serials/acquisitions librarian. Theresa R. Snyder has been appointed librarian of the College at Haverford Col- lege. Vida Vaughn is now the hospital librar- ian at the University of Louisville Libraries. Phil Vandermeer is the new head of branch libraries at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (UNC). In this position, Vandermeer will oversee the system’s subject- based branch libraries, and he will continue to serve in his capacity as head of UNC’s Music Library. Vandermeer has been head of the music library since 2001, and served as interim associate university librarian for col- lections and services from August 1, 2010 to November 30, 2010. He has been an adjunct associate professor in the UNC Department of Music since 2001 and previously held profes- sional librarian positions at the University of Maryland in College Park and the Free Library of Philadelphia. Tiffany Allen is now director of library human resources at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Library. Jacqueline Bronicki has accepted the position of project coordinating librarian at the University of Michigan Library for a two-year research project sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Howard S. Carrier has joined the faculty of Valdosta State University Odum Library as reference librarian.
