For the past two year she has served as special assistant to the chancellor and the dean emeritus at UNL, where she coordinated campus- wide accreditation e f f o r t s . G i e s e c k e joined UNL in 1987 and was dean of li- braries from 1996 to 2012. Prior to this, she was the associ- ate dean. Giesecke has held positions at George Mason Uni- versity and Prince George’s County Memo- rial Library System in Hyattsville, Maryland. Giesecke’s research interests include ac- creditation, academic integrity, leadership and management skills, and she published extensively in these areas. During her time as dean, she oversaw the $12.6 million renovation of the main library, oversaw the addition of a high-density storage facility on campus, and promoted the establishment of the institutional repository. The libraries en- dowment tripled under her leadership. She has held a variety of professional positions and continues to serve on the ALA Commit- tee on Accreditation. Cara Barker has accepted the faculty position of research and instruction/subject liaison librarian at Western Carolina Univer- sity Library. Maoria J. Kirker is now instructional services and assessment librarian in the Gate- way Library at the George Mason University Libraries. Tricia Mackenzie has been named head of Resource Description and Metadata Ser- vices in the Technical Services Group at the George Mason University Libraries. George D. Oberle III has been appointed history librarian in the Research Services Department at the George Mason University Libraries. Allison Ringness has been appointed digital initiatives librarian at Kansas State University Libraries in Manhattan, Kansas. Amy L. Sullivan has been appointed preservation librarian at the George Mason University Libraries. Shannon K. Supple has joined the Uni- versity of California-Berkeley Libraries as the head of Reference and Research Services for the Bancroft Library. John W. Warren has been appointed to head of Mason Publishing Group at the George Mason University Libraries.
