Katie Wissel is now business librarian at Seton Hall University Libraries. Retirements Brian E. C. Schottlaender, university librarian at the University of California (UC)-San Diego, will retire after 18 years of service, effective June 30, 2017. Most recently, Schottlaender launched the Geisel Library Revitalization Ini- tiative to renovate the interior public spaces P e o p l e i n t h e N e w sAnn-Christe Galloway of Geisel Library. In 2007, Schottlaender was named the Audrey Geisel University Librarian. In response to the growing demand at the univer- sity for cyberinfrastruc- ture, Schottlaender col- laborated with the San Diego Supercomputer Center, Calit2, and oth- er campus partners to build the technological and human capacity to manage and curate the vast amount of digital data generated by UC- San Diego faculty and researchers. Among his other achievements, Schottlaender served as lead curator of the Online Archive of California, was instrumental in developing the HathiTrust initiative, was an inaugural member of the Board of the Digital Preservation Network, and led UC-San Diego Library’s partnership with Google to build a global digital library. He also helped lead the development of the Western Regional Storage Trust, a shared print journal repository.
