Mass deacidification cost comparisons	1985	3	.pdf	application/pdf	1740	84	62	ACRL News Issue (B) of College & Research Libraries 122 Mass deacidification cost comparisons By Richard D. Smith President, Wei T ’o Associates Matteson, Illinois The purpose of this report is to point out the costs of deacidifying a book in the Library of Congress mass deacidification system at its start up and full production output rates, in the Wei T ’o® “pilot plant” Nonaqueous Book Deacidification System operating at the Public Archives of Canada as well as the full scale Wei T ’o plant planned for future installation, and in the manual spray deacidifica tion system developed at Princeton University Li braries using Wei T ’o solutions (see Table 1). Many costs have been overlooked in this unsophisti cated analysis, such as the change in operational or treatm ent costs which will take place over the next thirty years.	cache/crln-20512.pdf	txt/crln-20512.txt
