Solomon, The George Washington University ABSTRACT The purpose of this paper is to (1) define interpersonal competence based on Argyris’ theory, (2) present a rheoretical framework that outlines the conditions under which interpersonal competence can be acquired, (3) present a set of categories designed to measure interpersonal competence, and (4) introduce a new approach for dealing with and acquiring interpersonal competence.
