Varying aliquots (0.0—2.5 mL) of standard LPZ solution (100 µg mL-1) were accurately measured into a series of 10 mL calibrated flasks by means of a micro burette and the total volume was brought to 3 mL by adding water. One mL of 5 mol L-1 sulphuric acid in a total volume of ∼ 5 mL was used for the oxidation step, which was found to be complete in 15 min.
