is a senior in the School of Arts and Sciences at Boston College. He plans on studying neuroscience at a 

graduate level after graduating from BC. A native son of New Jersey when not committed to his studies, Kyle 

can often been found hiking, canoeing, or simply enjoying the great outdoors. 

is from DeKalb, Illinois and is currently a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences, spending the year abroad at 

University College Cork. She is pursuing an independent major in Irish Studies. Research for her essay 

began in her history class entitled "Ireland Before the Famine." Sara would like to extend many thanks to

EVAN SPEECE 
is a senior in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He is originally from Blue Bell, 

Pennsylvania, a small suburb just northwest of Philadelphia. Evan is concentrating in finance and accounting 

at BC and is hoping to pursue a JD/MBA joint degree after graduating from BC. He would like to thank his 

professor, Greg Trompeter, for his guidance and aid during this research. 

is a senior majoring in Art History with a minor in Hispanic Studies. Originally from Belarus, Svetlana came 

with her family to the United States when she was six years old. She received an Advanced Study Grant to 

study French in Montreal in 2007 and spent the 2008 spring semester studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador.

C A I T L I N P E T E R S O N 

is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program as of May 2008 with a major i n History 

and a minor in Latin American Studies. During her senior year at Boston College, she interned at Physicians 

for Human Rights, a non-profit that promotes international human rights from a medical perspective, as well 

as Neighbor to Neighbor Massachusetts, a small organization that fights for the rights and political 

involvement of working-class state residents. She is particularly interested in public policy, specifically in the 

fields of health and international relations, and plans to pursue a law degree and a career in the policy arena. 

K R i S T I N A A S T E 

is a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences. A double major i n Music and English with a minor in 

Philosophy, Krishna loves to explore interdisciplinary connections. Originally written for Professor Laurie 

Shepard's course "Dante's Divine Comedy," her essay also provided the inspiration for her English honors 

thesis, which wi l l discuss how seventeenth century musical trends influence John Milton's Paradise Lost. 

Accepted to the fifth year master's program in English secondary education, Krishna also hopes to pursue a 

doctorate in early modern studies. 

B R Y C E D O N O H U E 

is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences i n May 2008 with a 

B.A. in History and Philosophy. He currently attends Law School at the University of Maryland Baltimore and 

plans on becoming a judge. He would like to thank Professors Gelfand and Lowell for their guidance.
