However, the role of corpus in English teaching in secondary schools is not obvious and needs further research. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the application of corpus in the classroom of the secondary school English teaching, so as to better promote students’ learning and improve the quality of education and teaching. Introduction In the education and teaching practice, teachers often formulate the classroom teaching plans and select teaching methods according to the relevant learning conditions and teaching material requirements, so as to adapt to the needs of different students’ learning conditions and different teaching activities. At the secondary level, English, as a major subject, plays an important role in cultivating students’ interest in learning, learning strategies, cultural awareness, basic listening, speaking, reading, writing and use skills. Therefore, in the classroom teaching practice of secondary schools, how to improve the quality of education, promote students’ effective learning, and improve students’ comprehensive English literacy is particularly important. Related Theories 2.1 What Is Corpus Corpus (2020) refers to a large-scale electronic text library that has been scientifically sampled and processed, which stores linguistic materials that have actually appeared in the actual use of language. In general, corpus materials are usually typical, representative, and universal. In the teaching practice, electronic text corpus that teachers and students use is very convenient and fast to find, so it will play a vital role to promote student learning effectively and improve the quality of teaching. 2.2 What Is Corpus Linguistics From study showing that corpus linguistics is different from other linguistics, and it is an independent language research discipline that is based on studying a large number of real text corpora. In the practice of education and the classroom teaching, different teachers have different views on the impact of corpus in teaching. However, most scholars believe that corpus linguistics, as one of the most important research results of linguistics, has a revolutionary impact on education, teaching and language research. 2.3 Corpus and the Classroom Teaching It is well-known that there is a very close relationship between the corpus and the classroom teaching. The corpus is the storage of language materials, and in the corpus, all language materials are stored according to some fixed laws and regular ways. The research and application of the corpus provides many conveniences for English education and teaching research. And teachers can use some special software to search for more information and summarize the laws of education; At the same time, students can also be guided to get the materials and information they want through the software. Therefore, in the practice of education and teaching, teachers should pay more attention to the application and research of the corpus to improve the quality of the classroom education and improve the synthesis application capabilities of students. 2.4 Teaching Corpus The teaching corpus and the corpus have a close relationship. And the teaching corpus is often thought to be a space station of teaching materials stored for language materials with a large number of teaching courseware, consolidation practice and module test texts. These teaching materials and documents have stored language materials according to certain rules, which are based on the application and research of the classroom teaching practice, and it belongs to a single corpus. It is usually stored in the form of word, PPT, excel, etc. It is the optimization and integration of teaching materials and teaching auxiliary materials, and it is arranged according to the laws and methods of module teaching on the basis of teaching materials and exercises. Corpus Is Used in Classroom Teaching 3.1 Corpus Is Used in Classroom Teaching to Help Improve the Quality of English Classroom Teaching In teaching practice and research, through the analysis and study of the application of corpus in English classroom teaching and its impact on classroom teaching, it is found that corpus-driven English classroom teaching is very helpful to better students’ thinking ability as well as comprehension ability, induction ability and inquiry ability. What is more, corpus driven and used in classroom teaching, it is able to make learning activities be more interesting, lively, and challenging than the traditional classroom teaching ones. Because it breaks the old traditional teaching models that the teachers teach students and students only listen to their teachers. But the current way that corpus used in classroom teaching is no longer a simple memorization and memorization of knowledge, instead, an interesting inquiry learning process are seen all the time in the classroom teaching. This process also shows that in classroom teaching teachers treats their students as a learning center in class, not teachers as a class center. The teachers’ task is to play a role as organizers and designers. When the students are taking part in all the activities, they are active to think and construct their knowledge system. Nobody will force them to do so. Everything will be done by themselves on their own. And Everything will become interesting to the learners. As a result, when the students are interested in everything that they are learning. Students will actively begin to acquire the knowledge. From then on, learning gets easy to them. The classroom learning is given back to the students who join in all the teaching activities and become the learning masters, not slavers. Of all, it is due to the corpus used in classroom teaching and it achieves achievements in English learning and teaching. Corpus-based tools are applied to the teaching of listening and speaking in secondary school English classroom, which has made the listening and speaking teaching become flexible and effective. According to the practical needs of teaching and learning situation, teachers will rearrange and apply listening and speaking language materials for class, and use ANTC tools to find out the keywords in the dialogue, observe the colors and thickness of the words in the Word cloud presented in the dialogue, and the purpose is to help the learners easily grasp the frequency of words in the dialogue and understand the logical relationship between words. This not only changes the traditional listening and speaking teaching methods, at the same time, it can be better to make up for the lack and obsolescence of the content of teaching materials because of simplicity, but also it can effectively help expand valuable language materials and enrich the forms of the classroom English teaching. Chances given by teachers, they can use the corpus to select useful, authentic, English-based real listening and speaking materials, supplement the content of scenario listening and speaking, help change the traditional listening and speaking forms just by repeatedly listening to textbook recordings in the past. At the same time, a study noted that the short essay fill-in-the-blank is considered by students to be one of the most difficult problems in English teaching. That is because this problem aims to check the students’ all abilities, just like using English to solve the practical communicating problem. This is also the nature of learning language. It is well-known that language is thought to be a tool for communication. However, when the students do with the short-essay fill-in blank questions, it is often found that they get the lowest accuracy rate. But now, it is different, it will also be easily broken because of corpus. A recent study shows that in corpus-driven fill-in-the-blank teaching, the accuracy rate can be greatly improved, and the speed of understanding passages is twice as fast as usual compared with the traditional teaching modes. While in the traditional teaching ways, as for the short-essay fill-in blank, teachers often require students to read the entire short passage, and then encourage them to find the word and fill in the information. Teaching practice proved that it is time-consuming as well as a waste of laborious. Moreover, the accuracy rate of filling-in words is quite low, and students’ self-confidence is often reduced. Many students even escape from the short-essay fill-in blanks when they saw it. Nearly half of the students in the whole class, they only have two or three words to be right in the fill in blank. Therefore, paying more attention to the research of teaching corpus is more and more important at the moment. Recently, the author used the corpus tools to analyze and study the twenty essays that each has about 220-250 words in these short essays to fill in the blanks, and I surprisingly found that words appear regularly in the short essays., for example, the pronouns that often appear most in essays in middle school filling-in blanks are them, me, him and it. And verbs appear most often in the original form of take, get, have, make, be, and their past tenses, and their phrases that they often fixedly match with. The conjunction but, and, that and what appear more frequently. Therefore, in the process of understanding the paragraph, in fact, students do not need to read the words one by one at all. And they only need to see the key information of each paragraph, then they can fully understand the meaning of the entire paragraph, and easily find the words matched the phrases according to the context meaning of the sentences. They can also accurately find out the words to fill in called noun, verb, prep, or conj. In this way, it not only effectively promotes the accuracy of filling in the blank words in short essays, but also it effectively strengthens students’ self-confidence for their further study. 3.2 Corpus Is Used in the Classroom to Help Facilitate Student Learning In the practice of education and teaching, due to the uneven foundation of students and there are some differences in students’ personality, too. For example, some students often cannot complete the teaching tasks well on time in the limited time of classroom teaching. And then they will be given chances to use the teaching corpus resources to watch the teaching video playback repeatedly so that they help them make up for the missing teaching content in the classroom learning, which is very helpful for the learning of students who have low ability or poor memory. As a secondary school teacher, it is necessary to think highly of the application of corpus in the classroom teaching. And now corpus is getting more and more popular with many scholars and teachers because of its influences on research and classroom teaching. First of all (2021) the corpus is used in classroom teaching and has made a great impact on students’ language communication ability. In teaching practice, teachers often present some valuable, authentic and typical listening, speaking, reading and writing corpus to students, so that students have the opportunity to contact more authentic and authentic English native speakers, which is conducive to the cultivation of students’ language expression ability and communication ability. Because it breaks the traditional sense of dumb English, it breaks through the limitations of language expression in textbook content, and makes it possible to use English for communication with others. Secondly, the corpus acts on classroom teaching and plays a positive role in promoting students’ understanding and induction of discourse sentences. Corpus tools can help students analyze extract keyword information in the discourse through “word frequency” and “word cloud”, and students can grasp a large number of key information in the discourse through word frequency and word cloud display, so that students can quickly understand the theme ideas, grammatical structures and logical connection between these information. At the same time, through the display of the “word cloud”, the main meaning of each small paragraph is clearer. The AntConc corpus tool is used to help students analyze and summarize the relationship between words, the collocation relationship between the central word and the left and right sides, and the internal connection. These are of great significance to students’ understanding and summarization of discourse in their future studies, and the internal relationship between the acquisition of the structure of the text. Finally, the corpus should be used for the classroom teaching, and the impact on students’ self-learning ability is profound. The corpus is applied to teaching practice, and teachers guide students to observe every detail of the teaching process in depth. Teachers guide them to think positively, and teach them how to find discourse keywords, tell them actively participate in discourse analysis, encourage them to participate in exploring the logical relationship between upper and lower paragraphs, etc. From which they can find common points between paragraphs and find out the differences between semantic segments, so as to effectively help students solve them.” Discourse” Problems with comprehension. This kind of exploratory learning is also valuable for students to understand the vocabulary, sentences, grammar and correct grasp of discourse analysis. J. Conclusion It can be seen from the above analysis and study that in the teaching practice of middle school English teaching, teachers should attach importance to the research of corpus in classroom teaching, and teacher should clarify the important role of corpus in English classroom teaching. The role of corpus in classroom teaching and the important impact on students’ effective learning, combined with students’ learning situation and teaching requires, teachers should create their own corpus in a special targeted manner, such as error-prone thesaurus, composition sentence database, grammar-prone corpus and other special corpora. Because the construction of a targeted corpus can better serve classroom teaching and meet students’ further learning needs. In spite of building a better learning platform for students will spend a lot, but it let students see farther and learn more motivated. Of course, to build a better corpus, teachers need to spend a lot of time, energy and a lot of financial resources, but teachers must constantly overcome difficulties, holding a calm and quiet heart, and attaching importance to the research of the corpus.
