On the other hand, reaction of compound 1 with active methyl heterocyclic quaternary salts (α()‐picolines and/or quinaldine)ethyl iodide gave the corresponding 4‐amino‐2‐ methyl‐5,10‐dioxo‐1,5,10,11‐tetra‐hydrobenzo[g]quinolin‐ meso‐substituted‐3[2(4)] dimethine cyanine‐like dyes 2a‐c (Scheme 1).	cache/eurjchem-699.pdf	txt/eurjchem-699.txt
