In 1992 she received a Master's degree in Internationa l Affairs from Columbia University, and since 1993 she has been in the Ph.D. program in Ger4 man at Yale Universiry. She is currently working on her dissertation on German-Jewish writers in the nineteenth and early twentieth cen­ turies. SUSAN HUNNTCLnT is a fourth-year gradua te studenl at Vanderbilt Un iversity and has recently passed her Ph.D. exams. She came to Va nderbilt w ith her M.A. in band from the. University of Arkansas, Fayeueville, where she also earned her undergraduate degree. Susan Ilunrucun's dissertation topic will focus on Wolfgang Koeppen, and she hopes to receive a short-term DAAD Research Grant in order to look at Koeppen's li terary bequest. JULlAN NELSON is currently a graduale sruden! in the Program in Comparative Uterature at the University of California , Davis. Julian's area of emphasis is in GenTIan, French and Brilishjln-de-sleclelitera­ tures. Julian is interested in literary theory and technology. His dis­ sertalion will be an invesligation of how technology is used in the novel.
