She is currently working o n her dissenation investigating contemporary 
G erman political drama and theater. Her research inte rests include "theater 
in cyberspace," dramaturgy from Lessing to Brecht, and posllnodern 
cultural aesthetics. Jaeger has also worked as an inte rn at the National­

Atlea-Elena Luca was born .md raised in Sibiu (Ilernunnstadt) Romania.

Alhens. Her masters thesis is entitled ;"'Dressage' and Seil·Determin.nio n 
in Selected Works by Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach." Curremi}l she is a

She has also written on various writers including Andrei Gxlrescu, t-.1arianne 
Ehrmann, Patrick SiiBkind, and Hermann Hesse. I--£er current research 
focuses on questions about the aesthetic in the writings of K aLidasa, Marie 
de France, Daphne du Maurier, and G.E. Lessing. Her dissen,aion mu 
discuss problems and issues concerning the writings of Gernun-Romanian 
authors in conullunist Romania and in Germany. 

Stefan Manns has studied Genrun and comparative liter-.Ilure at the 
Universite d'Orleans and at the Ludwig-Mllimilians-Universit;tt (Munich), 
",-here he currentlysrudies theater and coml'nurucation sciences. l-lis interests 
include the social history of liter,nure and its function in societ}~ author­
and speech-act-theory mainly in the Early Modern liter-ature. 

Teague MintS studied history and German liter-ature in Tubingen for a

Presently working towards a doctoral degree in Modern \"«!stern European 
l-listory at Columbia University ,,~th a dissenation, "Bel\.veen Ideology 
and A!!tag. Discourses on Work in Wtlhelmine Germany, 1889-1914," his 
previous reseJ.rch projectS include the German seiz.ure of Ki<lchow in 1897 
and its connection to German n,nional politics (Nl A thesis). His interests 
also encompass German culrural and intellectual hiSlOry. 

Sine Schulz has srudied English and German literature and cultural studies 
at the University o( Limerick in Ireland, where she will soon begin an 
MA in English love poetry. She has "9.Qrked and published with the Centre 
(or lrish-GermJ.n Studies at the Univeristyof Limerick, and her reseJ.rch 
u:nerests include aniculations of love in literature, Gennan tv,.'t!ntieth century 
poetry, and disability studies. 

Tom Stewart is a doctor,!.1 candidate in the Department. of Germ:mic 
Languages and Literatures :ltlhe Universiryof Gncmnati. He is completing 
research on the representJ.tion of technology in German Literature from 
the Romantic to Expressionism.
