As the world's second-largest economy, China has achieved tremendous success in the realm of regional economic development. However, due to historical, geographical, and economic factors, there exist significant disparities among different regions within our country. In order to promote balanced regional economic development, China has put forward the strategy of "Belt and Road". This article will delve into the impact of the "Belt and Road" strategy on our country's regional economic development, and propose corresponding strategies to address these challenges, with the hope of providing reference and inspiration for the advancement of our regional economy. The Current Situation of China's Regional Economic Development Regional economic development in China is showing significant disparities. The eastern region, represented by coastal cities, is the most developed in terms of economic growth, boasting a well-established industrial chain and economic infrastructure that attract a substantial influx of manpower, resources, and capital. These areas possess advantages in high-tech industries, financial services, and foreign trade, making them the core regions for attracting foreign investment and driving innovative development. The central region, while making some progress in recent years, still lags behind the eastern region, facing issues such as a single-industry structure and inadequate development momentum. Industry serves as the main pillar of the central region's economy, but its development still relies heavily on resource-intensive and labor-intensive industries due to a lack of high-tech industries and innovation-driven forces. Additionally, the relatively backward transport infrastructure hinders the region's development potential. The western region is relatively underdeveloped in China, despite receiving strong support and investment from the government in recent years. It still faces challenges such as a sparse population, limited resources, and inconvenient transportation. The economy in this region relies mainly on agriculture and resource exploitation as its support, but due to a single-industry structure and insufficient technological innovation capabilities, economic growth remains relatively low. The northeast region, once an important industrial base in China, now faces severe issues of industrial hollowing-out and population outflow as a result of economic structural adjustments and industrial transformation. Decline in traditional heavy industries and difficulties in industrial structural transformation have led to sluggish economic growth and a harsh employment situation in this region. Although regional economic disparities exist in China, there are also positive trends.
