Clarisa Mendoza, born 
and raised in Caracas, 
Venezuela, is a junior 

in the College majoring in 
neurobiology and minoring 
in disability studies. In the 
future, she would love to attend 
medical school and  expand her 
knowledge of neuroscience.

Lauren Cox

Lauren Cox is a junior 
majoring in Neurobiology 
in the College. Lauren 

currently works in the Mocchetti 
Lab of Neuroscience. After 
graduating, Cox hopes to 
apply to medical school while 
maintaining her involvement in 
neurobiology-based research. 

Alexa Asch

Alexa Asch is a junior 
in the College at 
Georgetown University.  

She is majoring in neurobiology 
and minoring in disability 
studies, and she is on the pre-
med track. In the future, she 
hopes to continue doing research 
and being involved in medicine.

Nikita Shah

Nikita Shah is a junior 
at Georgetown 
University majoring 

in Neurobiology and minoring 
in Spanish. She is on the pre-
med track and plans to pursue 
a career in pediatric medicine.

Vidya Mullangi

Vidya Mullangi is a junior 
from Burlington, Iowa 
studying neurobiology 

in the College. She explores 
neurodegeneration in Dr. Italo 
Mocchetti’s lab and enjoys 
providing music therapy for 
cancer patients. Mullangi plans 
to attend medical school after 
she graduates.

Hyunwook Nam

Hyunwook Nam  is a 
junior majoring in 
neurobiology.  He is 

interested in psychological 
disorders and  neurodegenerative 
diseases. Previously, Nam has 
worked in Dr. Bill Rebeck’s 
lab and has interned at the 
Korea Brain Research Institute.

Sofia Flynn 

Sofia Flynn is a mathematics 
major from Virginia and 
a junior at Georgetown 

University. Her academic 
interests lie in number theory 
and cryptography. Sofia plans 
to pursue graduate studies in 
mathematics and has ambitions 
of contributing to the burgeoning 
world of post-quantum 
cryptography.

Denzell Brown

Denzell Brown is a 
Washington D.C. 
native and a senior at 

Georgetown University. He is 
majoring in psychology and is 
devoted to the lived experiences 
and psychological healing 
of Black women in the DC-
metropolitan area.

Britney He

Britney He is a junior in 
the College majoring in 
biology and minoring 

in public health. He currently 
researches cancer models in Dr. 
Chris Albanese’s lab. She is on 
the pre-med track and hopes to 
pursue a career in medicine.
