About the Authors

Britney Shaw

Britney Shaw is a senior at 
Georgetown University’s 
School of Health, majoring 

in Human Science and minoring 
in Public Health. She hopes 
to continue to integrate these 
disciplines into future research 
endeavors and aspires to pursue a 
career in the medical field.

Madelyn McLaughlin

Madelyn McLaughlin 
received her bachelor’s 
degree in Human 

Science from Georgetown’s School 
of Nursing and Health Studies in 
2022. She has remained in DC after 
graduation to work at the Milken 
Institute’s Center for Public Health, 
supporting projects across their 
mental health, health equity, and 
prevention and chronic disease 
pillars. In the future, she hopes to 
earn her Master’s in Public Health 
and improve public and community 
health through equitable, innovative 
solutions.

Lily Shytle

Lily Shytle is a member of the 
Class of 2024 majoring in 
Neurobiology and minoring 

in French on the pre-medical track. 
She is interested in exploring the 
intersection between biology and 
human behavior, as well as how 
clinical science can be used to 
improve people’s lives.

Lindsey Kuwahara

L indsey Kuwahara is a senior 
in the School of Health at 
Georgetown University, 

majoring in Human Science and 
minoring in Public Health. She 
hopes to continue to study the 
intersection of public health and 
medicine and plans to pursue a 
career in the medical field.

Amanda Gao

Amanda Gao is a recent 
graduate from Georgetown 
University’s School of 

Health, where she majored in 
Healthcare Management and 
Policy. She is a advocate for health 
equity and is pursuing a career in 
public health policy.
