Sociocultural Aspects of Contemporary Urban Art

Abstract

The article discusses a diverse dynamic phenomenon - modern urban art, as the result of the integration
of various artistic forms and thematic directions in public spaces, in the context of a new type of
formation  -  transformation  of  the  urban  environment,  conditioned  by  aesthetic  practice  and  social
action. Public art and street art, which carry the specific content of urban art, are defined. The specifics
of various unique artistic methods are reviewed, by which urban art implements aesthetic, social,
cultural, educational projects. Appropriate conclusions are made and probable development
perspectives are set.
