It defines the types of document flows: incoming documents, outgoing documents, and internal documents. It is noted that document circulation is one of the key components for organizational functioning. The automation of this process—digital management—enables corporate systems to reduce time and financial costs, avoid the exchange of incorrect information, and more. For automation purposes, organizations use either custom-developed or ready-made software solutions. The article outlines the essence and importance of XML technology in the automation of the document circulation process.
