In the mid 1980's I was visiting the Center for World Missions in Pasadena, California. There I had the privilege of meeting an 85 year old former missionary to China, Mr. William Shubert. At that time, he was suffering from cancer. I shared with Brother Shubert my interest in China, and how much I had been inspired by the story of Dr. John Sung, one of China's greatest evangelists. Brother Shubert told me that he had been a co-laborer with Dr. Sung and that he had written a small biography on Sung's life. He gave me a copy (which I have cherished to this day.) On the flyleaf he wrote, "May the Lord bless you use you as he did John Sung" I felt really humbled . I knelt and ask Brother Shubert to pray for me. Sometime later, he went home to be with the Lord. Three years ago, I met Dr. Enoch Wan in Portland who put me in touch with Dr. Thomas Wang , Director of the Great Commission Center International, in Sunnyvale, California. The purpose is to "encourage the nations (re)turn to God" He has already produced a very good book entitled, "American, Return to God!" I had heard of Dr. Wang but had never met him. Last January, I had the privilege of doing so. When he told that he had been converted as an eleven year old boy under the ministry of Dr; John Sung 70 years ago, I was truly amazed. Furthermore, he showed me a book that John Sung's sister had written and what name appears in the book? William Shubert. I am one who sees the hand of God in these events. Although brother Shubert is now in glory, I would like to believe that God is going to answer the prayer that he wrote on the flyleaf of Dr. Sung's biography.. When brother Wang asked me what country in Europe would be a good place to start in trying to encourage a return to God, I suggested England. Although it has now turned to secular humanism and bowed down to the altar of sexual perversion, in the past it was a nation with an evangelical and revival tradition Now, the Muslims have vowed to make London their European capital. In April 2007, I will be with brother Wang in London at the Newham monthly prayer meeting, called Transform Newham. This is just one of the prayer groups that are calling on God to intervene in the nation. On Pentecost, there will be a nationwide gathering in Newham. Please pray for Britain, that God will raise up not only an army of intercessors but also prophetic preachers., filled with the love of God, who will hate nothing but sin (s) and fear no one but Him. Pray for me, as I join hands with Dr. Thomas Wang in these "last days". For I have offered to give a helping hand in the USA and in Europe.
